Our short film 'Rocking Chair' has received another award, this time winning Best Narrative Short Film at the Chicago Indie Film Awards. Congratulations to the creators and the actors!

Our latest student film, ’Detour’, which was finished a few months ago, already has a number of international recognitions, including a best international short win in New York. Our latest awards – which are tree of the many, because we already have a dozen or so... and that is just the beginning ✨

Since our previous post about last years’ festival achievements, Legacy has won two other awards in Los Angeles, and has been officially selected to two other festivals in Los Angeles and Atlanta. Congratulations!

One of our editing students made a trailer for our short film ’Dirty Work’, which you can watch now! We still accept students for our courses starting in February. You can find all the information about the application process at www.budapestfilmacademy.com

It is the beginning of 2021 so it’s time for a quick review of what films we made last year. We’ve started to send our latest student films to festivals, here’re the results. We also added the film which was directed by the chairman of the Budapest Film Academy, Jeno Hodi, because many of our students worked on this project in significant positions, such as editor, production management, production design, costume, camera operator, 2nd unit camera, best boy, and many others.

Out of these films the festival recognition will grow for The Last of the Ushers and Legacy because we’ve just started to send these two films to various festivals.

Our student film ’Encounter with a Young Man’ after winning in India and being officially selected by Los Angeles and Moscow festivals, made it to the competition program of the London ArtHouse Film Festival and was a finalist at the AltFF Alternative Film Festival in Canada. Our student film ’The Last of the Ushers’ closed 2020 and started 2021 with great news: it won Best Short Film at the AltFF Alternative Film Festival in Canada, and made it to the finals at the Golden Short Film Festival in Rome!

Our film ’Mother’s day’ was selected as the best student film at the iFilm Festival in Los Angeles. Congratulations to everyone who was involved in the project!
