Dear Friends,

ICDT has been created as an institution within the Democracy Center Public Foundation founded by the Government of Hungary in 2005.

Now, it has been decided to eliminate the ICDT from the founding document of the Democracy Center Public Foundation, and thus put an end to the existence of this institution.

We, the staff of the ICDT strongly believe that supporting democracy and democratic transition throughout the world – however challenging it has become – remains an essentially important task for democratic countries and democrats in general. Thus, we are still committed to our original vision and mission: promoting the democratic values without universalizing and with possible alternatives which preserve the fundamental values of the Western European model, but also offering alternative methods adequate for the new situation and the level of development.

We believe development and democracy go hand in hand.

We would like to thank you for all your support, contribution and commitment throughout the past 12 years and send our best wishes to our friends, partners and supporters.

We are confident that we will meet again. Abiit, non obiit.
