💻🌍 Enhancing our Erasmus+ mobility digital processes with Mobility-Online! 🚀

Two colleagues from the Central International Office of PPKE recently represented our university at the annual SOP Mobility-Online Community Event! This year, for the very first time in the event’s history, it was hosted by one of our partner universities, the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) in Madrid. 🎓✨

🤝 We share a long-standing, excellent Erasmus+ partnership with UFV, a fellow committed Catholic university. Our cooperation spans across both Humanities and Information Technology, with many students and faculty members participating in exchanges over the years. This visit was a wonderful opportunity to further strengthen our professional ties in person.

📊 Since 2016, PPKE has been using the Austrian-developed SOP Mobility-Online software to manage all Erasmus+ mobilities. At this year's meeting in Madrid, held between June 9 and June 12, nearly 300 participants gathered from more than 460 partner universities.
Our colleagues took part in intensive workshops to:
• 🔍 gain a deeper understanding of the system's core functions,
• 🚀 discover new, innovative features,
• 📈 and make the administration process even more streamlined and user-friendly for PPKE students and staff.
We would like to thank UFV for their wonderful hospitality, and the SOP team for the professional organization and expert support! Armed with these new insights and experiences, we are continuously working to improve the software and ensure that international administration is as smooth as possible for both our home and incoming students. 🌍💼

🧪🌍 The “Lab-on-a-Chip for Biomedical Use” International Erasmus+ Program Successfully Concluded at Pázmány ITK! 🎉

Pázmány ITK has successfully completed its two-week Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP), titled “Lab-on-a-Chip for Biomedical Use,” where students from across Europe gained hands-on experience in the development of microfluidic chips for biomedical applications. 🔬💡

💻 The international training program consisted of two phases. Following an intensive online theoretical course held between June 22–26, participants continued their work in person from June 29 to July 3 in the Faculty’s laboratories. During the project week, students transformed theory into practice by following the entire development process—from the initial idea and computer-aided design to the creation of fully functional prototypes. ⚙️🧬

🤝 Beyond the scientific program, participants also enjoyed team-building activities and cultural events, offering them the opportunity to discover Budapest and experience Hungarian culture. 🇭🇺🏛️

🌐 The program was organized by Pázmány ITK, with the professional contribution of Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo) 🇮🇹 and Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) 🇪🇪. Alongside students from the organizing institutions, participants from several renowned European universities also joined the course. 🎓

🚀 In addition to providing valuable insight into cutting-edge technologies, the program created an excellent platform for building future international scientific collaborations. 🌍🔬

🌍 Strengthening International Partnerships at PPKE
On June 16, 2026, the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Pázmány Péter Catholic University had the pleasure of hosting delegations from three valued partner institutions: Strathmore University (Kenya), Ukrainian Catholic University (Ukraine), and the University of Salento (Italy).

Within the framework of Erasmus+ KA131 and KA171 programmes, nine colleagues visited our university as part of a staff training mobility. The programme provided an excellent opportunity for institutional presentations, professional dialogue, and sharing best practices.
Participants gained insights into PPKE’s academic structure, international activities, and study opportunities, while our partners also introduced their own institutions and highlighted impactful initiatives — including law clinic programmes supporting vulnerable communities and people.

🤝 The meeting further strengthened our international network and opened new avenues for future cooperation.

🌐✨ On the Border Between Humans and Machines – the project website is now live
The research initiative of Pázmány Péter Catholic University examines how artificial intelligence can be responsibly integrated into society from anthropological, ethical, legal and technological perspectives. 🤖📚
The project is being implemented through international cooperation, with our key transatlantic partner, The Catholic University of America (Washington, D.C.). 🌍🤝 The aim goes beyond the research programme of a single institution: we are building a professional and institutional network in which theological–philosophical anthropology, ethics, law, and cutting-edge research on AI safety and interpretability mutually reinforce one another, contributing to the responsible integration of new technologies into society.
