George Soros has been one of the biggest philanthropists and allies of Roma education and emancipation for decades. On his 96th birthday, we revisit a few reflections shared at the book launch of George Soros and the Roma : Praxis, Equity and Empowerment (2026) by Andrew Ryder, Balázs Majtényi, Frank T. Zsigo, including reflections by Angela Kocze on the legacy of his efforts to advance Roma rights, education, and participation.
