🎓 Yesterday marked the start of the Dissertation Mock Examination.
👩‍🎓👨‍🎓 The graduating class had the opportunity to testify to the knowledge they have gained and the work they have accomplished over the past four years.
📚 This experience will help students prepare for their thesis defence in the autumn 🍂.

It was a pleasure 😊 to welcome Prof. Dr. h.c. Gerhard Dannecker once again in Budapest 🇭🇺, where he delivered a presentation 🎤 to second-year PhD students 🎓 of the Central European Academy of the University of Miskolc.
His lecture focused on the complex relationship between European Union law 🇪🇺 and the constitutional frameworks of Member States, highlighting the ongoing tension ⚖️ between the European Court of Justice and national constitutional courts—especially the German Federal Constitutional Court 🇩🇪.
The lecture also addressed fundamental rights protection 🛡️ and the limits of EU competences.

The event marked a fitting conclusion to an intensive and enriching academic year, characterized by professional growth, dedication, and international collaboration.

Június 5–6. között került megrendezésre az International and Comparative Children's Rights Master of Laws LL.M. program workshopja, amely sikeresen zárult! 🎓✨

A workshop egy mozgalmas és tartalmas év méltó lezárása volt, tele szakmai fejlődéssel, kitartó munkával és nemzetközi együttműködéssel.

Büszkék vagyunk a résztvevők elért eredményeire, és kíváncsian várjuk, milyen pozitív változásokat hoznak majd a gyermekjogok területén világszerte. 🌍💙

The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) hosted an inspiring conference on “European Legal Values”, organised by the Central European Academy of the University of Miskolc in cooperation with KUL.

👥 The event brought together members of the Polish–Hungarian Professors’ Network and the St. Hedwig Research Group to exchange ideas on some of Europe’s most pressing legal and institutional challenges.

💡 Key topics included:
• the future of the EU and regional integration
• rule of law & constitutional accountability
• EU and international law in national systems
• cross-border legal relations
• identity, values & integration in Europe
• conflicts between law and societal values

🤝 The discussions highlighted how essential academic dialogue is in shaping the legal future of Europe.

A Lublini II. János Pál Katolikus Egyetem (KUL) adott otthont a „European Legal Values” konferenciának, amelyet a Miskolci Egyetem Közép-európai Akadémiája szervezett a KUL-lal együttműködésben.

👥 Az eseményen a Lengyel–Magyar Professzori Hálózat és a Szent Hedvig Kutatócsoport tagjai gyűltek össze, hogy megvitassák Európa legfontosabb jogi és intézményi kihívásait.
