Our first collaborative year in the CEEPUS “Sharing Contemporary Dance Practices” network has started in an inspiring way! ✨

Within the framework of the Creative Dance Practices exchange program, 12 students from four partner institutions joined the second-year students of our school for an intensive week of shared learning and artistic exploration. Mornings were dedicated to moving together through ballet, rhythm, and dance classes, building a common physical foundation and a supportive working environment for the group.

In the afternoons, workshops led by Dávid Somló and Imre Vass focused on exploring time as both a lived experience and a conceptual structure in performance. Through improvisation, creative tasks, and reflection, participants experimented with different durations and discovered how time shapes perception and performance.

The week concluded with a public space performance, where students applied the improvisational and creative tools developed during the workshop and shared the results of their collaborative process with an audience.

GALA – just a little differently: Grow A Little Affection. Feelings not only have a place within us, but they can also be celebrated; we can give them, and we can receive them.
But what does this have to do with dance? Dance harmonizes. The subtle constellations of attention and presence, sensation and emotion, physicality and movement, connection and encounter shape not only the dance itself, but also the relationship between performer and audience. We can give them, and we can receive them.
During the evening, the students presented two pieces composed and directed by the invited artists – Zsuzsa Rózsavölgyi and Dávid Mikó – alongside their own independent creative works, offering a glimpse into the fresh ideas, experiments, and encounters that animate their practice.
