May 25–28, 2026. Valéria Árva, Éva Trentinné Benkő from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, and Ildikó Romanoczki, Head of the International Office, participated in a one-week course titled “English Language and Literature” at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.

The course, organized within the framework of the BIP, was attended by English language instructors from German, Belgian, French, and Spanish universities. Lectures were delivered by the Limerick faculty on the following topics:
- Irish history
- Irish culture
- 21st-century Irish literature
- Irish (‘Hiberno’) English
- the Irish language
- teaching the Irish language in schools
- multilingual education
- topics in English language teaching and methodology
- assessment
- digital language learning applications
- language teaching for students with dyslexia.

After the lectures, participants had the opportunity to experience Limerick’s vibrant musical, literary, and cultural life. The week-long BIP also provided an excellent opportunity for professional networking.

Concurrent with the event, a doctoral school summer university was also held, where Valéria Árva and Éva Trentinné Benkő presented their research conducted as part of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences’ Public Education Development Project.

🌸A colleague of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, language instructor Gabriella Kiss, visited the University of Malta (Università ta’ Malta) within the framework of an Erasmus+ mobility program from May 11 to 15. During her stay, she was hosted by the Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education.

🌞In Msida, she met with Head of Department Josephine Milton and Associate Professor Josephine Deduara, gaining insight into local language teaching methodology as well as approaches used in early childhood and primary education. She also received detailed information about courses available to our students and potential field practice opportunities.

🔍As part of the visit, she explored two potential placement sites (San Ġorġ Preca Primary School and It-Tajra Childcare Centre), where, in addition to professional discussions with the heads of the institutions, she had the opportunity to observe classroom activities.
