🇺🇸 In we go on curfew from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with some exceptions: We can go for a walk with our pets, and I do that every night in . This is what the streets look like. There is a certain magic in the solitude of the streets. By the way, I learned that Saint Nicholas (or Santa Claus) gave gifts to the children on December 6 and the angel on December 25 (if I'm wrong, correct me). How many times do children in your country receive ? Who brings them?

EN- in Colombia 🇨🇴 I remember when I was little, the spirit of Christmas began the 7th of December with "the day of the little candles" or "día de las velitas". Going out and visiting other neighborhoods to see their nativity scenes and decorations is a must. Singing Christmas carols after reading the "novenas" and eating and sharing with family. Good times! ✨ How do you celebrate the holiday season?

He escrito cuatro frases diferentes.

Why are you like this, Spanish?

If you are already studying the Spanish language, you will know that we have the verbs "ser" and "estar" which for some reason are two different verbs, and in other languages such as English or French they are only one verb. I have written four different sentences. Can you guess when we use "ser" and when we use "estar"?

Colonialism imposed the Spanish language on our ancestors, which us why we often find words or expressions that in Spain are already considered archaic. One of these words is found in Colombia, more specifically in the department of Boyacá (although it is heard in other parts of Colombia): ¡Sumercé!. It is used colloquially to address someone in a fondly matter. Originally it was "su merced" or "vuestra merced" (what in English would be "your mercy" or "your grace") and was used as a courtesy treatment at a time when social classes were well defined. The most curious thing is that "vuestra merced" evolved to become what is now the "usted" form. The language is alive and always evolves with our history!
