🇵🇹Networking in fabulous Portugal, even in summer
A long-held wish came true for the management of the BCVT Kemény Gábor Technical School during the first week of August on the island of Madeira, Portugal.
As part of the school’s Erasmus+ project (number 2025-1-HU01-KA121-VET-000343037), four staff members took part in a job shadowing and, thanks to the organisation of their new partner, Mobility Friends, were able to sit down at the negotiating table with the managers of the island’s largest port. In future, they will be happy to welcome our logistics technician trainees for work placements – which, let’s face it, is quite a rarity: gaining experience in shipping, water transport and port operations in such beautiful surroundings. 🛳️
Furthermore, it is worth noting that the participants also had a wonderful time thanks to the proximity of the ocean and the unique natural surroundings.
This week-long mobility programme was made possible by financial support from the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.

Work experience in Ireland with Erasmus+

"Between 4 July and 2 August 2026, we had the opportunity to spend a month full of experiences in Ireland, as part of the Erasmus+ mobility programme (project numbers: 2025-1-HU01-KA122-VET-000339658 and 2025-1-HU01-KA121-VET-000337843). 🇮🇪
Our team gained experience at three different workplaces:
☘️Jázmin Ingrid Balázs and Rebeka Durbák worked at the Irish College of English, a language school, where they mainly carried out administrative and coordination tasks.
🦢Anna Fazekas and Anna Janurik took part in the Swan Training Institute’s summer camp, carrying out administrative tasks similar to those mentioned above.
🌇Lea Panka Gerlecz worked at the reception desk of Aparto, a company operating mainly as student accommodation, carrying out registration and verification tasks.
Alongside our work placements, of course, we could not miss out on the excursions. At the weekends, we visited numerous nearby attractions, such as Howth, Bray, Dún Laoghaire, Malahide and Swords.
We tried to make the most of the time available to us so that we could experience the local culture as fully as possible. We also learnt about local history and various legends whilst at our work placements.
During our stay, we were hosted by local families, which gave us an insight into the everyday customs of the Irish people. Overall, we found them to be extremely kind, patient and helpful people.
All in all, we had a brilliant time. We came home from this unforgettable month with a wealth of valuable experiences." – Anna Janurik from BCVT Széchenyi István Bilingual Economics Teachinal School and Dormitory.

🌍🇭🇷Professional development and gaining international experience in Split
In early August 2026, a teacher from the BCVT Szent-Györgyi Albert Technical School and Dormitory had the opportunity to take part in an international training course entitled ‘Conflict Management, Emotional Intelligence and Bullying Prevention’, hosted by the Europass Teachers Academy in Split, Croatia.
The training focused on conflict management, developing emotional intelligence, preventing bullying, and creating a positive and supportive classroom environment.
Over the course of six days, participants were introduced to a number of modern methods that can be effectively applied in everyday teaching practice. Among other things, they explored the types of school conflicts and the causes behind them, assertive communication, active listening, conflict management and problem-solving strategies, as well as ways to recognise, prevent and address bullying.
🤝The practical exercises, role-plays, case studies and group work were particularly valuable, as they enabled participants to work through real-life school situations. They learnt about the roles of victims, perpetrators and bystanders, as well as the opportunities and responsibilities we have as teachers in terms of prevention and appropriate intervention.
💡The training placed great emphasis on emotional intelligence, empathy, tolerance and fostering a positive classroom community. Course participants learnt new cooperative learning methods and motivational techniques which can help to engage pupils more actively, strengthen cooperation and create a positive learning environment.
🌐The international group work provided a unique opportunity for teachers from different European countries to share their experiences and best practices. They learnt about other countries’ anti-bullying programmes, conflict resolution strategies and teaching methods. This experience significantly broadened the participants’ professional horizons and provided them with new ideas for developing their own teaching practices.
The collaborative work also improved their ability to communicate professionally in English, whilst providing an opportunity to establish international professional networks that could form the basis for further cooperation in the future.
📚The teachers will put the knowledge they have gained into practice. Using these new methods, they will be able to manage classroom situations more effectively, boost pupils’ motivation, help prevent conflicts, and contribute to strengthening cooperation within class communities.
Alongside the professional programme, there was an opportunity to learn about some of the distinctive features of Croatia’s education system, as well as the history, cultural heritage and everyday life of Split. The cultural programmes and the excursion to Šibenik further enriched the experience and contributed to the development of intercultural competence.
✨This mobility programme was a valuable experience for everyone, both professionally and personally.

🌍🇭🇷 Szakmai fejlődés és nemzetközi tapasztalatszerzés Splitben

2026. augusztus elején a Békéscsabai SZC Szent-Györgyi Albert Technikum és Kollégium oktatójának lehetősége nyílt részt venni a „Conflict Management, Emotional Intelligence and Bullying Prevention” című nemzetközi továbbképzésen, amelynek a Europass Teachers Academy adott otthont Splitben, Horvátországban.

Professional Development in the Stunning Renaissance City of Florence
Teodóra Pál, a teacher at the BCVT Szent-Györgyi Albert Technical School and Dormitory, participated in the Erasmus+ mobility project 2025-1-HU01 -KA121-VET-000337843, took part in the course “Discovering Renaissance Art in Florence” from July 27 to August 1, 2026.
During the training programme, the international team of teachers learned how the city became the intellectual and artistic center of the Renaissance era through the Medici family. The programme provided a detailed overview of the city’s historical heritage and culinary traditions. The course aimed to help participants establish and understand the historical context of topics related to Italian Renaissance art.
At the Uffizi Gallery, they analyzed the epoch-making works of Renaissance artists such as Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael, among others, linking the theoretical knowledge gained in class with visual experience.
The course provided an opportunity to expand international connections with participating teachers from Poland, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, Malta, and Ireland.
The mobility created an opportunity to gain professional experience that can be put to excellent use in the classroom. It offered great ideas on how to incorporate Renaissance art history into lessons through exciting activities and projects.
Learn, experience, and be inspired—in Europe! 🇪🇺✨

International training programme in Lisbon

🌍🇵🇹 "From July 20 to 25, 2026, I spent a truly inspiring week in Lisbon as part of the 2025-1-HU01-KA122-VET-000339658 Erasmus+ mobility project, where I participated in the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) for Secondary Education international training programme alongside ten colleagues from Italy, Ireland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.
The training was extremely hands-on: we were able to try out numerous creative, immediately applicable activities, while also learning a great deal from each other’s best practices. It was particularly valuable for me that, in addition to professional development, we were able to gain a better understanding of the cultures and educational systems of different countries and build international professional relationships that will hopefully endure in the future.
Knowledge of and the conscious application of the CLIL method are now indispensable in bilingual education. The integrated development of subject content and a foreign language not only makes learning more effective but also more motivating and engaging for students. This training has reinforced my belief that a confident understanding and daily application of this approach and methodology are vital to the success of bilingual education programmes.
I am grateful for this professional and personal experience, and for the opportunity to return home enriched with new ideas, inspiration, and international connections. I will be able to successfully apply what I have learned in my daily work, and in doing so, provide even more enriching experiences for my students." - Gabriella Nagy, teacher at BCVT Széchenyi István Bilingual Techninal School of Economy and Dormitory

Vízműsök in Europe! 🇪🇺 🇪🇸 🇫🇮 🇵🇹 🇲🇹
During the 2026–2027 academic year, the BCVT Vásárhelyi Pál Technical School and Dormitory will organise seven student mobility programmes to Spain, Finland, Portugal and Malta, with funding from the accredited institutional support scheme of the Békéscsaba Center of Vocational Training.
Project identification number: 2025-1-HU01-KA121-VET-000337843

The first group has already set off, comprising three students training as road construction, railway construction and maintenance technicians, who will spend four weeks in the Spanish city of Córdoba between 2 August 2026 and 30 August 2026. Balázs Károlyi, Csaba Peres and Zoltán Márk Zsótér, our Year 12 G class students, have successfully completed three years at the BCVT Kós Károly Technical and Vocational School and are now qualified in their trades. They are concluding the first year of their studies at "Vízmű" with an Erasmus+ mobility placement.
Accompanied by their supervisor, Krisztina Márta Makra, they will be exploring the town and their work placement sites on Monday.
The group is spending two weeks at INGEDECA (Jabea Obras y Servicios SL), a company that also specialises in road construction, which is proving to be a major challenge given the current weather conditions. During the summer months, these companies are forced to halt work, as the intense heat makes it impossible to carry out outdoor work. The students are also given the opportunity to try their hand at their primary trades: Balázs and Csaba will spend two weeks practising carpentry at Armarios MORA – Córdoba, as they are carpenters, whilst Zoltán will carry out painting and decorating tasks at the decoration firm PINTURA Y DECORACIÓN FP.

Of the next three groups of students, the building construction technician students will continue the series of Erasmus+ mobility placements in Córdoba, Spain, this autumn.

10 Creative Ideas for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language

Between 20–24 July 2026, as part of the Erasmus+ mobility programme (Project No. 2025-1-HU01-KA122-VET-000339658), Márta Paróczai, a language teacher at the BCVT Széchenyi István Bilingual Technical School of Economics and Dormitory, had the opportunity to spend a week in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, participating in the methodology course "10 Creative Ideas for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language" at Academia Iria Flavia.

During the course, she worked alongside colleagues from the Czech Republic, France, and the United States. From the very first day, it became clear that although they came from different countries, they shared the same goal: to inspire students to enjoy learning Spanish even more.

Throughout the week, she discovered a wide range of innovative teaching methods that she plans to incorporate into her lessons in the coming school year. The course explored the creative use of songs and films in the classroom, the integration of artificial intelligence into language teaching, engaging approaches to teaching meaning-changing verbs and the Spanish subjunctive, as well as the design of project-based learning activities. Every day was filled with inspiration, practical ideas, and teaching strategies that can be applied directly in the classroom.

Perhaps the most valuable experience for her was the confirmation that interest in learning Spanish continues to grow worldwide. It was encouraging to hear from fellow participants that, alongside English, an increasing number of students in their countries are choosing Spanish because they see it as an important, useful, and enjoyable language to learn. This was especially meaningful, as promoting a love of the Spanish language is something she is passionate about every day.

The unique atmosphere of Santiago de Compostela, the international professional community, and the many new experiences made this mobility an unforgettable journey. She greatly enjoyed the week and returned home with countless new ideas, fresh inspiration, valuable professional connections, and even greater enthusiasm for teaching.

Once again, the Erasmus+ programme demonstrated that international professional exchange not only supports teachers' continuous professional development but also directly contributes to providing students with more modern, engaging, and learner-centred language education.

She is sincerely grateful to her school for making this professional opportunity possible, to the Erasmus+ programme for its generous support, and to the entire team at Academia Iria Flavia for their warm welcome, high-quality training, and the wealth of inspiration they shared.

¡Muchísimas gracias por todo! This experience will remain with her forever. 🇪🇸❤️

"My Experiences in Valencia, the Birthplace of Paella
Duration of the mobility: July 6, 2026 – July 11, 2026
I had the opportunity to spend a week full of wonderful experiences in Valencia, Spain, as part of the Erasmus+ teacher mobility programme, where I participated in the professional development course titled “Becoming a
Well-being Ambassador to Create Happy Classrooms and Schools.”
The “Well-being Ambassador” training contributes to creating a happier classroom environment and a more balanced life for teachers. Positive psychology and pedagogy
help develop life skills and social-emotional skills through experiential learning. The mind-body exercises introduced during the training promote a positive and healthy mindset for both teachers and students.
I am very grateful for the opportunity provided by the Erasmus+ mobility programme, as it broadened my professional horizons, allowed me to meet colleagues from other countries, and gave me a glimpse into the cultural and historical life as well as the cuisine of this beautiful country.
I found the training to be very useful and inspiring, so I will do my utmost to ensure that, through the experiences gained during the programme, a positive mindset becomes increasingly widespread among my colleagues and students.
