We provide the children with a quality education and give hope for their future. Psalm 46:1-4 Refuge: is the place that is most safe and secure. That word Refuge means a lot for me because since I was in school I was thinking how hard it is for children to go to school in Haiti because of different kinds of problems like books, food, space. That pushed me to think of the Bible Psalm 46:1-4. After
reading those verses, I knew I should have a good school in my community to help the children and the parents. We starting thinking about where and how to establish a school. We first started a school in a small building for the elderly to teach them how to read and write. We wanted to show them how important learning is and to show them that knowing how to read is important such as to determine if a liquid is poison or not. So I helped them. Then in April 2015 I held a big meeting with parents and leaders of the community to tell them about my dream of starting a school. They were happy and encouraged me to follow my dreams. We started enrolling students even though we had nothing. I believed God would provide. We had no money, benches, chalkboards, teaching materials, office materials, but I was not afraid because I had faith that God would provide. I was working with my friends to find money to start and we borrowed money from friends. My brother, Paul, helped us pay the rent in a small house. Then I met Mrs Amy, Mrs Jane and Mr Mike. They encouraged me a lot. They also helped me with supplies for school and teachers and with paying the rent in our larger facility. This 2017-18 year is very difficult as we have a lot to do but we keep praying God will help Jane and Mike find help for us. We rent where we are now but we need to own land and build a school. Thank you to everyone who has helped us and who continue to help us with our dream which will be a reality. Look for the Refuge and you will find a Refuge. Psalm 46:1-4
