We have finally received some photos of our school post-earthquake. Some minor damage was done to the roof that will require repair. There was damage done to the roof of our principal's house that we will assist in repairing. All in all, and particularly when compared to so many other schools in the HEF network, it fared well. We hope to requisition the mechanical drawings for our next phase of construction after the village can get back on their feet. We are doing our best to make food drops for our families In this difficult time. We're not quite sure when school will reopen. Stay tuned.

We have heard through our principal that the school has survived Hurricane Matthew with no damage. We wish we could say the same for the rest of the area. More info as we have it.

We haven't received any Hurricane updates yet, but prayers are continuing for the safety of our children and their families at Petite Riviere and the rest of Haiti. We hope they're able to take shelter in the Richard Crittenden School!

Check out the newly completely St Luc school in Bresilienne, another village along the south coast. The construction of this school was based exactly on the plans developed for St Philippe & St Jacques. You can find pictures of the new school St Luc Primary School.

As the school year has concluded, we just received the final tallies from Trinity Hope for our lunch program: our students and staff were served 26,307 hot meals from September through June! Thank you to all our supporters who have allowed for this lunch program to be put into place--before, these kids had no food during the school day. Absenteeism is way down and overall health is way up!

We have finally reached our financial goal to do the next phase of the project: to construct a 4-room auxiliary building to house the kitchen, lunchroom, water treatment room and food storage room, plus a cistern. Thanks to all our donors!
However, we missed the construction window that fades as the rainy season begins (there is a river to ford with people and equipment), and we moved our contractor to first complete the newly funded St Luc School in Bresilienne. He will return, hopefully, as things dry out in late fall and we can begin construction!

We received another nice update from our school. Absenteeism has made a significant drop after the implementation of our lunch program, due to lower incidences of sickness among the students and faculty! The temporary kitchen can be seen in this picture. We are still raising money for the permanent kitchen, and we'll get that done as soon as he have all the money. Keep it coming, and thanks for all you do!
