Did you know that the date which had been set for the official reopening of classes in Haiti was September 8, 2025?
The Haitian government, through the Ministry of National Education, rescheduled it to October 1st, 2025. However, the students of ICB, concerned about their studies and aware of the importance of education, began working from August 4 under the guidance of tireless servants and believers in education. Resuming school activities before the date set by the Ministry of National Education will allow students not only to complete their study programs but also to be competitive on an international level. From August 4 to October 3, 2025, students were allowed to come to school in civilian clothes. On October 6, in a warm and friendly atmosphere, students in uniform presented themselves at school to continue their studies. On this occasion, an official ceremony was organized to give certain instructions to the learners, provide them with some advice, review the history of Haitian education, and dedicate the school year to God. The administrative staff of ICB school and the learners believe that with God, they will have a successful school year. According to many statements, they are not only on the path of knowledge but also on the path leading to success. They are proud of this and also grateful for the help received from their brothers and sisters from the United States of America. Were it not for this gesture of love, humanity, and fraternity, they would not become men and women who are useful to Haitian society and humanity as a whole. Happy school year to all ICB learners in particular and to all Haitian students in general!

Les bureaux de EWO aux Etats-Unis et en Haïti ont réalisé leur quatrième édition d’orientation professionnelle.
Le bureau de EWO en Haïti, d’un commun accord avec celui aux États-Unis, a organisé une journée d’orientation professionnelle le vendredi 23 mai 2025, à l'Institution Classique de Bayonnais (ICB). Cette initiative permettra aux jeunes bénéficiaires de cette journée de formation à mieux faire le choix de leur carrière professionnelle et à mieux comprendre les réalités du marché du travail.
Les participants, au nombre de cent (100), étaient des apprenants en nouveaux secondaire III et secondaire IV. Cette journée d'orientation professionnelle a été animée par un panel composé de sept intervenants, dont un pasteur, un comptable, une jardinière, un ferronnier, un enseignant, une infirmière et un ébéniste. Les panélistes ont, à tour de rôle, pris la parole pour partager leurs expériences personnelles avec les apprenants des classes susmentionnées et discuter des avantages et des inconvénients des différentes professions, des opportunités qu’offre chaque domaine d'études, et surtout des efforts nécessaires pour garantir un meilleur avenir lors du choix d'une carrière.
À l’issue de cette formation, les participants ont exprimé leur satisfaction et ont indiqué que cette journée de formation les aidera à faire le meilleur choix d'une carrière professionnelle à l'avenir.
La direction de l’ICB, aidée par les bureaux de EWO aux Etats-Unis et en Haïti, continue à former les futurs héros afin qu'ils puissent transformer leur communauté.

Ewo is out and about in the community - check out Team Lead, Olguens Saint-Louis, at Weddington High School!

Board Member, Donna Podgorny and Executive Director, Melissa Hoffmann joined Olguens on this special field trip. We visited classrooms to learn more about how technology is used for not only computer literacy but also as a teaching tool.
