What fun activities or crafts do you have sitting around your house that you no longer need or use? Gather those items together and we would love to take them off your hands.
.
As the end of the month get closer, we are hoping we can have drop off locations for you. With COVID-19 still in keeping things tricky, stay tune for a drop off time and locations.
.
We will then gather these items together and regift them to a foster & adoptive families in the area.

Thanks for teaming with us and sharing God's love.

We're kicking off a new campaign, and we'd love to share how YOU can be involved!

We began this year asking for the Lord for clear vision. We had no idea the turmoil our nation - all nations - would be in when we plugged campaign ideas into our marketing calendar four months ago. And yet, He did. And He leads in such profound ways, even when we do not know what we are being led towards.

We had decided that in April we would begin a campaign for medical and emotional needs - both for our families locally as well as our OneVision family in Haiti. And while we’re all figuring out a “new normal” in uncertain and uneasy days, we could not think of a more fitting time than the present - when our doors are closed but we long for our hands to be open.

Regardless of what the world might look like, for the next three months (April, May, and June), we’re inviting you to join us as we give.

Together, we will invest in holistic healing - not only our physical needs in the middle of a health crisis, but also our mental and emotional needs in a time of so much fear, stress, and anxiety. Through this campaign, we desire to 1.) meet families where they are, 2.) sacrificially give what we already have, and 3.) provide new opportunities for connection and conversation.

On behalf of our local families, this will look like collecting [disinfected] things like old puzzles, picture books, coloring books, activity books, games, toys, costumes, etc. that your family is no longer using but might be a breath of fresh air to another family - particularly local foster and adoptive families - who have also been stuck inside.

On behalf of our Haitian family, this will look like collecting any spare medical supplies like bandaids, ointments, rolls of gauze, plastic gloves, old crutches or slings, ibuprofen, etc.

So how about a timeline:

This month (April), we invite you to simply lean in, listen, and to learn about the different ways foster families, adoptive families, and orphan care facilities are being affected by the coronavirus. Watch our Facebook and Instagram for new posts going up each week. From here, we invite you to pray, prepare, and maybe even package. As you’re rummaging through your home, cleaning out closets, reorganizing shelves, start filling up a box with things you might be able to donate.

In May, we’ll start collecting [pending the status of Covid-19]. As we know, things are changing on a daily basis, so details will be provided as the time draws nearer. If possible, we will create “blessing baskets” and deliver regularly as items come in.

We will continue collections in deliveries in June!

Thanks for considering what it might look like for your family to be involved in loving the orphan, our foster families, and our adoptive families in this season. We continue to ask for clear vision from the One who already knows what is up ahead, run after His heart, and strive to live a life like Him - sacrificial, rooted in abundance, anchored in the hope to come. If you are not a local family but are interested in participating in this campaign, you are encouraged to join us in prayer, covering our families in prayer, and/or you are welcome to send a donation with the memo directed to the “closed doors, open hands”.

Even if we can’t open our doors, let’s open our hands.

Spiritual Security -

Our goal is for EVERY child and staff member to have an opportunity to choose Jesus for themselves.

One Vision strives to bring spiritual security to our children through church, bible studies, mentorships, worship, and daily teaching and disciplining.

We have an opportunity to have a deep impact on the spiritual lives of the children in our care, coming from the community to the One Vision schools, and those in surrounding communities. We are asking for continued prayer: for staff to know and grow in relationship with Jesus and for this to overflow into the children in their care and for each one of the children to grow in their own relationship with Jesus.

Our goal is to raise $2,000 for wages and curriculum.

Wall Repairs (property safety)

Due to heavy rains during the rainy season, much damage was caused to a road leading to the One Vision property. This is a road that both staff of One Vision and many community people use frequently. The road was washed out and part of the wall surrounding One Vision’s property was heavily damaged. The road and the wall are both a necessity for the safety and provision for daily life for all the children and staff of One Vision. Please consider joining us in raising the funds needed to adequately repair the wall and the road. Our goal is to raise $5,000 for repairs.

Barbed Wire (physical safety) -

One Vision Orphanage has been in need of increased security for the orphanage and therefore, we are focusing on adding barb wire to the walls surrounding One Vision’s property. This added security will provide increased security to the children, staff, & allow them to feel safe within their family setting. The barbed wire will be added to the top of the existing walls surrounding the property in which One Vision Orphanage and Primary school is located.

Our goal is to raise $10,000, which would cover the cost of the barbed wire & installing it into the wall. Please consider joining us in providing this challenge to care for our family in Haiti.

Did you catch this inside look at our OneVision Haiti rebranding earlier this week?! SO much intentionality went into this work, and we want to share it with you!

In this video, Tessa walks you through the redesign process! You’ll see the exact PDF presentation she sent to Francisco months ago, hear the meaning and prayer that anchors the design, and how we’ve since implemented the new brand in fun ways (think school uniforms, large-scale signs, a website, and more).

For This Child

How entirely different and incredibly less FULL my life would be if not for a man who had a dream.
.
.
🧔🏼👩🏼👩🏿👧🏿👧🏿👦🏿👧🏽👧🏿👶🏿
.
.
I am more in love with this crazy crew than words will ever be able to describe. More thankful for the opportunity to do life together than I can tell you. More aware of the divide than the fire in my belly can express. More challenged and changed than I ever could have imagined I would be.
.
.
My young and naive heart dreamt that one day, through adoption, I would change the world. At the chance of sounding cliche, let's just be real: I had no idea. Every single day, this mama and her babies and the people that surround her are changing my world. We're changing each other, like iron that sharpens iron. Who would I be if I was restrained to stay in my own bubble?
.
.
Broken. I would still be broken. Even more broken then I already know myself to be. Because these relationships are healing me. Teaching me. Changing me into a much better version of myself.
.
.
I am better because I get to sit at the same table, laugh in the same living room, cry on the same front steps, hold hands and look into the eyes of this mama.
.
.
Jesus, I praise You for your heart of Justice. I praise You for your heart of redemption. I praise You for your righteous anger against oppression. I praise you that you're not done. I praise you for how you've opened my eyes. I praise you for how you're moving, even when we can't see it. I praise you for a fight that is still being fought. And I praise you that we WILL Look back on this moment and find ourselves further along than we are right now. Raise up the generations. Raise up my family, THIS family. Raise up my kids, OUR kids. Warriors with dreams growing inside of them just like they grew inside of him.

#onevisionhaiti, thank you Tessa Dejong.

We've been walking alongside our family at the OneVision Haiti Orphanage in a season of rebranding! And we're so excited to tell you about it.

With so much hurt and hopelessness attempting to steal the life of Haiti, we've been pressing in for the Lord to sweep in with redemption. I don't think any of us thought that would look like rebranding, but the opportunity presented itself and the fruit has been so life-giving.

Later this week, you'll get to meet the designer and listen to as she walks you through the redesign process! You’ll see the exact PDF presentation she sent to Francisco months ago, hear the meaning and prayer that anchors the design, and how we’ve since implemented the new brand in fun, new ways (think school uniforms, large-scale signs, a website, and more).

But first, we'd love share this simple diagram that explains the main elements of the logo with you. We hope you enjoy and are refreshed with prayer for our friends at OneVision and across the nation of Haiti.

New Year - 2020 Vision

Our focus for 2020 is having 20/20 Vision, clarity in His leading and clear vision with Kingdom focus. Vision to see what God is calling us to do in caring for the orphan. Katelyn’s Fund Orphan Ministry is a one ministry with many parts. We are called to care for the orphan and have tried to address the need through our many parts - international orphan care with One Vision Haiti Orphanage in Haiti, by giving grants to adoptive families, and by providing support and resources to adoptive and foster care families. We seek vision that is focused on the Lord and His desire for the ministry. We hope to address each part of our calling throughout this year with 20/20 Vision and Kingdom Focus.

Katelyn’s Fund Orphan Ministry

As we launch into this New Year of 2020 we want to share with you something that our Haitian family did over Christmas in hopes that it will bring you joy and encourage and spur you on into this year to serve others well just like they are doing! So thankful they were able to share the love of God with others in their area of Haiti!

The One Vision staff and kids invited another group of kids from another orphanage to celebrate Christmas with them. They worked hard on creating a special day for their friends. They wanted to give to others, spread kindness, joy, peace and good will in this season of remembering who Jesus is and His miraculous birth and life on earth.

What a great example to us all, One Vision! So thankful for all of you! You truly inspire us to do more!

And we can't wait for the day when we will all get to celebrate together - not just in Haiti with the few who can travel, but we mean ALL of us. In the Kingdom. We're going to dance and we're going to eat and we're going to share and we're going to give...and we're going to bask in the greatness of His love, seeing and knowing FULL well.

We do not know about you, but we cannot wait!

Happy New Year, friends. May it be filled with New Vision.
