The 13th Higher Education Institutions Conference (HEIC) took place on September 4–5, 2025, in Dubrovnik, organized by ZSEM, ZSEM – Business Academy, and the Luxembourg School of Business (LSB). This year’s topic - AI and digital transformation in higher education - gathered rectors, deans, professors, policymakers, and business leaders from across Europe and beyond.

🔑 Keynotes were delivered by Peter A. Gloor (MIT, USA), Eileen McAuliffe (AACSB International, UK), Mikael Gorsky (Holon Institute of Technology, Israel), and Mark Brewer (University of St Andrews, UK), offering diverse perspectives on innovation, governance, ethics, and technology.

💡 The panels addressed:
Strategic challenges of higher education systems (with experts from Kozminski University, Heilbronn University, UWC Mostar, ASHE Croatia, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management)
AI adoption – ethical and implementation challenges (with speakers from ZSEM/LSB, Holon Institute of Technology, University of Ljubljana, University of Nice)
Generative AI & data-driven discovery (with scholars from KIMEP University, Kozminski University, Heilbronn University)
Experiences of Croatian universities in European alliances (with University of Dubrovnik and PAR University College)

📚 The program also included an AACSB workshop led by Audrey Milton, 16 peer-reviewed papers, and a rich social program in Dubrovnik’s Old Town - reaffirming HEIC
as a leading international forum for shaping the future of higher education.
