Applications for the Summer School of Science are now officially open!

Apply for an unforgettable summer camp experience in Croatia where you will work with enthusiastic, young scientists on real, scientific projects and get to know peers from all around the world!

You can apply for the School from March 1st until June 1st 2022 by filling in the online application form. You will also need to upload a motivation letter and provide us with the contact information of one of your teachers. If you are applying for a scholarship, you will need to upload a separate scholarship application letter. Once the applications have been reviewed, a certain number of applicants will be selected for a Skype interview.

The S3++ camp is also back between the 4th and 14th August 2022! This year's organizers, Ivana Osredek and Leonardo Pierobon, are working hard to make your scientific adventure in Požega safe and sound.

Ivana is a graduate in Biochemistry from the University of Leicester, UK, and is currently doing an internship as a bioinformatician at Illumina. She has an extensive mentoring experience at several summer schools and this is her first year organizing S3++, for which she is very excited!

Leonardo has established his own tutoring company https://my-academic.com after finishing his PhD in Physics at ETH Zurich and graduating Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. This is his 3rd time organizing the S3++, proving his passion and dedication to it.

The organizers are always very busy making sure everything goes as smoothly as possible while at the Summer School. That’s why the technical assistants are there to give them a helping hand! In 2022, these crucial roles will be fulfilled by Jovana Dinić (S3 camp) and Vedrana Stantić (S3++ camp).

Jovana is currently a second-year student of medicine at the University of Belgrade, while Vedrana is a first-year student of applied chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology in Zagreb. Jovana and Vedrana are both ex-participants, looking forward to joining the organizing team this year.

Now that you’ve met them, stick around to see what our S3/S3++ teams have in store for you!

After an unwanted two-year break, the S3 camp is finally coming back between July 24th and August 3rd 2022. Your journey through science and Požega will be safely guided by this year’s organizers: Dora Grbavac, Luka Korov and Laura Busak.

Dora holds a master’s degree in molecular biology, soon starting her PhD at the University of Lausanne. This is her third year organizing S3, where she was also a swapshop leader and technical assistant, as well as an attendee.
Although this is his first encounter with S3, Luka is a passionate science popularizer, currently studying computer science at the University of Zagreb and working at an IT company.
Laura is a third-year physics student at the University of Zagreb and also has a diverse history at S3, having been an organizer, technical assistant and attendee for several years in a row.

We are excited to announce that, after a two-year interruption due to COVID, the Summer School of Science is going to be held in person this summer!

Applications open on the 1st of March. In the meantime, look out for our posts! We will be informing you of what we have prepared for this year's edition of the School.

Članovi Društva EVO su duboko rastuženi vijestima koje dolaze iz Istraživačke stanice Petnice o kojima mediji pišu posljednjih dana. Članovi EVO-a su i sami saznali za navedenu situaciju iz medija i ovim putem žele najoštrije osuditi sve oblike seksualnog nasilja i pružiti svesrdnu podršku žrtvama.

Prema našim saznanjima, polaznici projekata Društva EVO su uvijek bili pod nadzorom organizatora i voditelja projekta, nisu bili izloženi nasilju ikakvog oblika, te bi Društvo EVO isto smatralo u potpunosti nedopustivim. Pozivamo sve naše polaznike i/ili njihove roditelje da se obrate Društvu ukoliko imaju ikakvih pitanja.

Vezano za Istraživačku stanicu Petnica, vjerujemo da će vodstvo Stanice preuzeti sve odgovarajuće mjere, sankcionirati odgovorne i spriječiti ovakve događaje u budućnosti kako bismo mogli nastaviti graditi kvalitetne znanstvene kolaboracije i pridonijeti zajednici koja neće tolerirati slične situacije u budućnosti.

Ljetna škola znanosti S3/S3++ je bila i ostaje sigurno mjesto gdje naši polaznici uvijek mogu pristupiti nama i prijaviti nasilje, te želimo još jednom naglasiti da i među našim polaznicima ohrabrujemo prijavu eventualnog nasilja.
