From November 28th to December 1st we had the pleasure of staying at our friends from EGEA Warsaw .warsaw ! 🇭🇷🤝🇵🇱

First day was reserved for university and city tour through the Old Town, where we had an amazing lunch at the milk bar, of course! 🥘 We also visited the amazing Royal Palace, and the evening was reserved for a stand-up comedy.

On the second day we visited Palace on the Isle and the biggest public park in Warsaw, Polytechnic University and we went partying to the club!! 💃

On the third day we've seen a bit different part of Warsaw on the other side of Wisla river with some cool urban regeneration examples, heard about the legend of the name of the city, and we went on the top of Palace of Science and Culture! 🏙️ We spent the evening at one of our amazing hosts where we had an eventful Polish evening with iconic homemade zapiekankas and Polish drinks and snacks.

The last day was also really exciting. We've been to Palace of the Commonwealth where we learned a bit about Polish history in general, and we also went to the Warsaw Uprising Museum, which was extremely interesting. Soon after that, we had to say our goodbyes to amazing folks of EGEA Warsaw 🥹

Our four days in Warsaw went by really quickly, which can only happen when you have wonderful people around yourself. We hope we will meet again somewhere in Europe soon, as you were so kind to us. Finally, we have a feeling we didn't only made a trip to Warsaw, but we made friends with people we met there. 🫶

Dziękuję, Warszawo! Thank you, Warsaw!

See you somewhere in Europe 🧡

From 25th to 28th of September, we were honoured to organise CroWeek , also known as Balkanijada, in Međimurje - the northernmost Croatian region. 🇭🇷

The theme of event was "Rural tourism as a factor in spatial development". We were visited by our friends from different countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, Austria and Poland. Our goal was to show our guests as much as we can of Međimurje region as one of the most prosperous regions in continental Croatia. To achieve that goal, we visited various museums - Ekomuzej Međimurje, Riznica Međimurja, Med dvemi vodami, Mlin na Muri and the city of Čakovec.

Besides excursions, we had different activities at our accomodation - Games Without Borders🏸 where we had a chance to get to know each other better and to introduce our guests to local customs. Other activities included Geoquiz night, wine degustation, Cultural Fair and Croatian theme night.

The third day was reserved for educational presentations from our members Ana, Dunja and Marin. We also had a meeting with other ex-Yu entities about the future of Balkanijada (and it is bright! 😌)

The highlight of our event was a performance of traditional dance Linđo by our member Anja and her friends.

The orga team is signing off very thankful to everyone who attended and made this event amazing! 🫂

See you somewhere in Europe! 🧡

From 8th to 13th of September, 10 of our members participated in this year's Annual Congress .egea in Melchtal, Switzerland! 🇨🇭🐐

Our members were very busy during the congress: Josipa said goodbye to her role of a Regional Assistant of .eastmed and Donat became the new RA of our region! Congrats to him 🥳

As for the other members: Dunja lead a training about Public Speaking and CP1 Barbara about Intercultural Communication, while our CP2 Ognjen was busy attending important General Assembly meetings. Lucija was an official photographer, hence the beautiful photos in our post (also thanks to Tuva) 🤩
We are also very proud of newbie Gabrijel who presented his and Jordan's paper on the Scientific Fair! 🎉

The theme of the congress was "Geographies of Celebration". Our newbies and oldies enjoyed both official and less official programme connected to the theme - from many interesting workshops, educational and exciting excursions in the Alps and city of Luzerne, to fun theme nights! Again, shout out to Dunja - best DJ to ever open an EGEA Festival night🕺

All in all, we had a wonderful time with our friends and collegues from all over Europe ☺️

Also congrats and best wishes to the new Board and Regional Teams and big thanks to Orga team! 🫶

Earlier this month, from 7th to 10th of August, 3 of our members participated at this year's edition of Karstic Weekend in the Gemer region in Slovakia 🇸🇰

We had a chance to get to know this region with a city tour of Rožňava and a visit to the old Lutheran church in Štitnik .cesta , blast furnace Etelka and a 2,5 km walk in the Slavošovsky tunnel.

But of course, our main goal was to explore everything ✨karst✨ related. We visited Ochtinská Aragonite Cave which protected by the UNESCO, admired karstic forms at Silická Planina, hiked 12 km through Zádielska tiesňava to reach Turňa castle with a scenic view. 🏰

Most important, we had a great time with our old and new friends 🫶

Thank you for organizing this great event!

See you somewhere in Europe! 🧡

From 16th to 19th of May, we were visited by our friends from EGEA Vienna. 🇦🇹 Our friends experienced how students' life in Zagreb looks like.

The first day was leisure city tour on which our friends saw the most famous and the most important sights of Zagreb. 🏛️

On the second day, we showed them Maksimir park where there is also a zoo 🙈, ate at students' menza restaurant very well known for its low pricing and at the end of the day, we watched Eurovision Song Contest where Austria won! 🎉

On the third day, we visited the nearby town of Samobor where our friends tried a local dessert called "kremšnite" 🍰. On our last day we visited the 80s museum which interactively represents how life was like during the period of former Yugoslavia. Before they left, we hung out at Jarun lake where other EGEAns from Zagreb joined us. 🥰

We really enjoyed this exchange and hope that we will see each other soon at some incoming events! 🧡

From 5th to 9th of May, 3 of our members participated in this year's North and Baltic Regional Congress in Finland 🇫🇮

The theme of the congress was "From Ice to Life" where we had an opportunity to learn about different aspects of this theme through various workshops which included geomorphology, hydrology, pedology, tourism, etc. Two of our members, Barbara and Ognjen .oze even led a workshop "The Significance of Finnish soil" 🧊

Our days and nights were spent learning and immersing ourselves in Finnish culture through "Finnish theme night" where we learned traditional finnish dances, SitSit party, relaxing in the sauna and even swimming in the cold lake 🥶🧖

On our excursions we visited the scenic city of Porvoo, Baltic sea coast, giant's kettle sight, Rajamaki bevarage plant and alcohol museum while the others went on a hard hike to the Finnish forest 🌲🍺🪨

All in all, we had a wonderful time with our fellow EGEA friends. Our time in Finland was truly memorable and we once again thank the amazing OrgaTeam for the best congress experience 🫶 Kiitos!

See you somewhere in Europe! 🧡
