POMALO. Relax, take it easy.

It is a way of life in Dalmatia.

And in order to understand it, you need to experience it.

Because to take it pomalo means waking up pomalo, having your coffee pomalo, eating pomalo, spending time pomalo, living pomalo.

And once you accept it, your thoughts slow down, your shoulders relax, and your breathing falls into the rhythm of the sea.

There is no “I am late”. You will be there when you are there. Pomalo.

And that‘s it.

It teaches you to let life set the tempo. To enjoy that particular moment, that conversation, or observation, and never forget to cherish every second of it.

Here, at Platform21, that is the first lesson we teach. As we take it Pomalo together.

So share your perfect Pomalo moment photo in the comments below.

Good leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about knowing what to do next.

This week in sunny Zagreb, principals, managers and leaders came together for three days of Innovative Leadership course, just before the new school year begins and the real challenges of leading teams return.

We explored what stronger leadership looks like in practice: clearer communication, active listening, social-emotional skills and practical AI tools that can support us before the next meeting, difficult conversation, deadline or important decision.

But leadership is not only about tools and strategies. It is also about knowing how to listen, when to adapt, how to communicate with purpose and how to create an environment where people and fellow colleagues can do their best.

And, of course, we made time to experience Zagreb, because meaningful professional learning does not have to stop when the classes ends.

To every principal, decision-maker and leader who joined us for this first-of-its-kind experience: thank you for being part of the beginning.

This is only the first of many.

Here’s to more conversations, more shared knowledge and better ways of leading the people who count on us.

When does the school start in your country?

Tell us in the comments below. ⬇️

Back to school. A sentence that has been living rent free in every teacher’s head since the beginning of September.

But the start of the school year doesn’t fall on the same date everywhere, so lucky for them, teachers in Malta have 20 more days before they’re back in the classroom.

And if you are wondering, they are always looking for physics, math and chemistry teachers. ;)

Jokes aside, we just have one thing we wish for:

Dear school year, please be kind, gentle and caring.
We love you, but please bring us the holidays soon.

Teachers, take chances, make mistakes, get messy, but above all never forget be the teacher you wish you had.

02/09/2026

Dear teachers, remember this:

Not every lesson ends when the bell rings. Sometimes, the best ones follow students home, in conversations, stories, questions and memories.

Because being a teacher is not only about what you teach, but about what you make your students feel, think about and remember.

What do you hope your students remember about you?

A day at Erasmus+ course in Split with Platform21

Somewhere between in-class activities and coffee breaks, classes at Platform21 happen outside and in none other than in the most beautiful park in Split.

This week, August decided to give us exactly what we needed: plenty of sunshine, warm afternoons and a very good excuse to take learning outdoors.

Our days move between workshops, practical activities, discussions and those spontaneous conversations that happen when teachers from different countries sit down together and start sharing what actually works in their classrooms.

This is what makes an Erasmus+ week with Platform21 different. You come for the course, but the experience grows far beyond the classes.

You learn something new. Someone else shares an idea you want to take home. A casual conversation becomes a friendship. And somewhere along the way, a city you had never visited starts to feel familiar.

Let‘s welcome our amazing teachers in Split this week!🇪🇪, 🇪🇸, 🇷🇴, 🇲🇹, 🇨🇿, 🇱🇻 & 🇩🇪We have been exploring, learning and ge...

Let‘s welcome our amazing teachers in Split this week!

🇪🇪, 🇪🇸, 🇷🇴, 🇲🇹, 🇨🇿, 🇱🇻 & 🇩🇪

We have been exploring, learning and getting to know each other in beautiful and sunny Dalmatia.

Between walks through Split Old Town, enjoying the pomalo lifestyle and sunny days swimming in the Adriatic, we’re diving into what it means to teach in the 21st-century classroom: innovative teaching methods, new approaches to learning, and tools that can make a real difference in the classroom right before the beginning of the new school year.

But there is another part of being a great teacher that deserves just as much attention, Well-being.

Because teachers cannot keep giving their best if they never make time to take care of themselves, too. At Erasmus+ teacher training center Platform21, we are learning how to manage stress, take care of ourselves and find balance between obligations and our free time.

And somewhere between the workshops, conversations and exploring, something else is happening. Strangers are becoming friends.

That is one of the things we love the most about Erasmus+ mobility. You arrive knowing nobody, and leave with beautiful memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

Our purpose is simple, and watching you become the teacher you wish you reminds us why we do what we do.

Iceland is calling us back 🇮🇸

And we gladly said yes.

And while preparing for another extraordinary week in the land of ice and fire, we can’t help but feel a little nostalgic about our previous courses.

So many amazing people, and so many fond memories we still smile about.

Great food, vibrant colours, weather that changed its mind every five minutes, singing in an old bookstore, and those simple moments when everyone was just happy to be there.

This is what a week looks like with Platform21 outside of classroom.

And inside the classroom, it is just as active: shared knowledge, new approaches to teaching, the latest developments in AI, practical tools and ideas that can find their way into your classroom long after the course ends.

And than there is Iceland itself.

Breath-taking nature, active volcanos, geysers, incredible waterfalls, hot springs (Lagoons) and unique beaches, this is a country that will change the way you see the world and perceive nature.

But perhaps the best part is experiencing all of it with teachers from across Europe, turning a training week into something you will remember forever.

A truly one-of-a-kind opportunity for all the educators searching for their next Erasmus+ experience.

Join us from 25th - 31st October 2026 for another great journey! We are waiting for you! ☺️

Teachers TALK

Nektarios, a music and media studies teacher from Cyprus is talking about the differences between digital immigrants and digital natives.

One of the key differences between students and teachers in 2026 is their level of digital and AI literacy. These differences have never been more visible and in order to keep up with the students, teachers need to adapt to new technologies and integrate them into their professional and everyday lives.

The goal is not to avoid technology, but to speak the same digital language as students and establish a common code of communication with them.

Today’s teachers cannot avoid technology. They need to embrace it, integrate it into their teaching, and explore the opportunities that digital technologies offer for education.

“I need new ideas. I don’t want another year of teaching on autopilot.”

If this sounds familiar, maybe autumn is the right time to step out of the routine.

And where better to do it than Split, Croatia?

Autumn in Split has a different rhythm. Fewer crowds, warm days, the Adriatic still within reach, and the perfect setting to learn something new while discovering Croatia beyond the classroom.

At our Erasmus+ courses, teachers don’t just sit and listen.

They create. They experiment. They discuss. They collaborate. They test new tools. They share what really happens in their classrooms.

And somewhere between all of that, new ideas start to happen.
You leave with practical tools, fresh perspectives, new connections and, hopefully, a renewed sense of why you love teaching in the first place.

Because professional development should give you more than a certificate.

More ideas.More confidence.More inspiration.More reasons to try something differently.

This autumn, make your Erasmus+ experience a chance to learn, connect and discover Croatia.

One course. One week in Split.A new perspective on teaching, and a little more of Croatia along the way.
