🌱 Green ASC VET Final Conference
🇪🇺 European Parliament, Brussels

Today, the project consortium met online to discuss two key questions:

✅ What activities still need to be completed before the project officially ends on 1 October 2026?

✅ What do we need to do to ensure that our two-hour final conference fully showcases everything we have achieved throughout the project?

The short answer: much more than we originally expected! 😊

Fortunately, our consortium continues to work with great enthusiasm and commitment. As always, today's online meeting was held in an excellent atmosphere, reflecting the strong partnership and shared vision that have driven Green ASC VET from the beginning.

We are excited to enter the final phase of the project and look forward to presenting our results in Brussels!

The summer of 2026 has been marked by several important milestones for the Metautism Project, which continues to connect education, technology, employment, and social inclusion for autistic individuals across Europe. Here is a summary of our latest activities and achievements.

For many families raising autistic children, long waiting lists for therapy and rising costs are becoming the norm. But learning and development don’t have to pause as accessible digital tools are increasingly stepping in to support therapists and families.

One example is Word Tube, a speech therapy app created by our guest Marijan Živić. Built from real occupational and speech therapy exercises, it was developed by a parent who needed exactly this kind of support in everyday life.

Inside the app, children move through visual exercises at their own pace. Parents can add personal photos and record their own voice, turning therapy into something familiar, flexible, and repeatable at home.

Tomorrow we continue our conversation with Marijan Živić, father and creator of Word Tube, a speech therapy platform.

He shares the story behind WordTube, an app inspired by his daughter Ana's autism journey. Starting as a simple tool to help her learn to communicate, it has grown into a platform with engaging communication exercises rooted in proven speech therapy principles.

As waiting lists for therapy continue to grow, accessible digital tools like Word Tube are becoming an important support system for families. They help parents and professionals tailor learning to each child, making practice more consistent and integrated into everyday life at home.

Through her dedicated work, Irena has demonstrated how journalism can be a powerful driver of positive social change. Her contribution to the Green ASC VET (Metautism) project is especially valuable – for more than two and a half years, she has been hosting the Metautism radio programme on Radio92FM and Radio Ogulin, continuously bringing topics related to autism closer to the wider public.
Through her professional, empathetic and responsible approach, Irena helps project results reach the community, encourages understanding, and fosters inclusion.
This award is a recognition of her excellence, but also of the importance of the topics we promote together.
