🏛️ Tri mjesta. Tri priče. Jedno pitanje – kako danas čitamo svoju baštinu?
🌿 Fratta Terme u Bertinoru svjedoče o razvoju termalnog turizma i arhitekture 1930-ih. Monumentalni kompleks Grand Hotela spaja racionalističku arhitekturu s motivima koji prizivaju rimsku prošlost, dok je razvoj termi bio povezan i s društvenim i političkim programima fašističkog režima.
🏛️ Nedaleko od njih nalazi se Casa del Fascio – nekadašnja zgrada fašističke stranke koja je i danas jasan podsjetnik na ideologiju i propagandu tog razdoblja. Njezin balkon, primjerice, nije bio samo arhitektonski element, već prostor namijenjen javnom obraćanju i simboličnom predstavljanju moći režima.
🤝 A u središtu Bertinora nalazi se Colonna dell’Ospitalità, simbol potpuno drugačije priče – stoljetne tradicije gostoprimstva. Dvanaest prstenova na stupu predstavljalo je plemićke obitelji koje su prihvaćale putnike, a tradicija se i danas obilježava kroz Rito dell’Ospitalità.
🔎 Upravo u tim kontrastima možemo pronaći disonantnu baštinu – baštinu koja ne govori jednom jedinom pričom. Ona istovremeno može govoriti o napretku i propagandi, zajedništvu i moći, ponosu i teškim poglavljima prošlosti.
💡 MEMORY ESCAPE projekt želi učiniti vidljivima upravo takve slojeve. Kroz istraživanje, lokalne priče i digitalne alate, projekt pretvara odabrane lokalitete u prostor za pitanja, dijalog i nova iskustva baštine – posebno za mlade.
Jer baština nije samo ono što nasljeđujemo.
Baština je i ono što odlučujemo pamtiti, propitivati i prenijeti dalje. 🌍

🏛️ Three places. Three stories. One question – how do we read our heritage today?
🌿 Fratta Terme in Bertinoro bears witness to the development of thermal tourism and architecture in the 1930s. The monumental Grand Hotel complex combines Rationalist architecture with motifs evoking the Roman past, while the development of the thermal baths was also connected to the social and political programmes of the Fascist regime.
🏛️ Nearby stands Casa del Fascio – the former headquarters of the Fascist Party and a clear reminder of the ideology and propaganda of that period. Its balcony, for example, was not merely an architectural feature, but a space intended for public speeches and the symbolic display of the regime’s power.
🤝 In the centre of Bertinoro, we find the Colonna dell’Ospitalità, a symbol of a completely different story – a centuries-old tradition of hospitality. The twelve rings on the column represented noble families who welcomed travellers, and the tradition is still celebrated today through the Rito dell’Ospitalità.
🔎 It is precisely in these contrasts that we can find dissonant heritage – heritage that does not tell a single story. It can speak simultaneously of progress and propaganda, community and power, pride and difficult chapters of the past.
💡 The MEMORY ESCAPE project aims to make these layers visible. Through research, local stories and digital tools, the project transforms selected heritage sites into spaces for questions, dialogue and new heritage experiences – especially for young people.
Because heritage is not only what we inherit.
Heritage is also what we choose to remember, question and pass on. 🌍
