A busy two days in Bar, Montenegro, where our Activity Coordinator Ms Vedrana Djukarić represented RACVIAC in the 41st meeting of the Permanent Working Group of the Sub-Regional Consultative Commission.
RACVIAC has been supporting the implementation of Dayton Article IV by preparing and training personnel involved in the Agreement’s verification regime, facilitating the exchange of practical experience and strengthening the expertise needed to carry out verification activities effectively. Since 2001, this long-standing engagement has included 30 courses and around 650 trained inspectors.

Since taking office on 1 May 2026, RACVIAC Director Ambassador Miroslav Šćepanović has hit the ground running, embarking on an intensive programme of inaugural visits and meetings, while also engaging in RACVIAC Programme and a range of activities beyond it.
After months on the move, PAO finally managed to steal a moment with him for a conversation about his new role, his experience of regional cooperation, and his vision for RACVIAC.

From the importance of trust “painstakingly built and easily lost”, to the value of regional expertise, the future of RACVIAC curriculum and partnerships, and even its much-loved “register & forget” logistics service, Ambassador Šćepanović shares his thoughts on where the Centre is coming from, where it stands today, and where it could go next.

You can find the full interview with Ambassador Šćepanović on page 11 of RACVIAC Newsletter no 81:https://www.racviac.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Racviac-Newsletter-81-lores-2026.08.25.pdf
