Private bilingual schools are on the rise, but are often too expensive and lack financial aid. WBK is a professional organization with strong roots in both Honduras and the United States. Our schools have been in operation since 2005, and both are private. Ev
en a quick glance at Honduras is enough to illuminate many social, economic, and political inadequacies. Honduras is one of the poorest and most politically unstable countries in the Western Hemisphere, but these sad truths are accompanied by the very real opportunity for deep and meaningful human impact. Unfortunately, children in Honduras are often forced to bypass education in light of greater economic needs. Many children forgo education in order to begin working at a young age. There is also a growing population of children living without parents, as Hondurans are increasingly migrating to the U.S. and Europe in search of greater economic opportunity. WBK Foundation responds to these children by offering them stability, love, positive role models and examples, quality education, and an invaluable global perspective. WBK Organization seeks teachers who are motivated to make a difference by ensuring hope to young Hondurans. Applicants for teaching positions are reviewed frequently, and potential teachers should be passionate, motivated, college educated (4-year degree minimum), and open minded. Foreign teachers are supplied with housing and a monthly food stipend. Applicants need not speak Spanish as they will be teaching in English, but a desire to learn the language is recommended.
