“How to train your next little sports champion”
You’ve seen the success of our athletes in this Olympics season, malls cheering for our triumphant sports heroes. It is only reasonable for parents to start training the next gold medalist! Here are a few tips to help you start shaping the next little champions!
1. Help your children to find their sport
This should be very easy as the Olympics is playing on every channel. Aside from cheering for our hometown heroes, you should pay attention to kids’ sport preferences, what they would like to try out themselves.
2. Exercise with your kids
Of course, there is the professionalism factor in joining hobby classes. But, do not throw your children into the classes immediately after they showed a slight interest in the sport. Try out the sports with your kids on your own first.
3. Keep the fun of the sport
Harsh training is not for beginners, and definitely not for children. Let children enjoy the sport first before making a strong commitment to it.
4. Do not rush into a sport
Similar to the previous tip, don’t make a strong commitment the moment kids saying they want to take part in a sport. The requirements for equipment are low for beginners, there is no need to purchase personal gear for your children head-to-toe.
5. Encouragement
Always remember that each person is unique, your children’s strong suit may not lay in sports but in other aspects. Do not force them to commit to a sport just because you see athletes winning. Motivate them if they choose to commit to a sport.
