The Young Performer’s Certificates (YPC) are especially designed to develop confidence, enjoyment and achievement in children up to the age of seven through group interaction and performance. They encourage the integration of performance skills to create stories, roles and situations through imaginative use of movement, music and voice. They provide a child-centred introduction to performance skills, which will provide a sound foundation for future studies and examinations in speech, drama, musical theatre and music.

The Speech Communication Arts exams (SCA )are designed to encourage the development of spoken and written English for learners aged between 5 and 14 years of age. This is accomplished through the performance of a range of texts, sharing ideas, exchanging views and negotiating; working towards, at the top level, the preparation and delivery of a presentation.

The exams provide teachers with a structure that builds students’ confidence and systematically develops the skills they need for achievement in their social and professional lives, while simultaneously developing their imagination and expressive abilities.

The skills developed through preparing for these assessments are:
Interpersonal skills – relating to others appropriately with ease, confidence and awareness
Expressive speaking - interpreting a range of texts and communicating them imaginatively in performance
Practical speaking – sharing information imaginatively with an audience
Reflective skills – exploring, recording and reflecting upon the context of practical work in written English

Congratulations to our Trinity Bronze YPC and SCA II performers who participated in last Sunday's performances.

You all did superbly well!

Congratulations to our Trinity Gold YPC (Young Performers Certificate) and Trinity SCA (Speech Communication Arts) students.

The results are in and I am delighted to report that both Trinity groups passed impeccably well. You all genuinely impressed both the examiner and I with your linguistic fluency and attention to detail!
