Piano Accompanist Group was founded in the year 2003, consisting of about 20 pianists this year. It aims at training professional accompanists for different music events throughout the academic year. The group provides various chances for accompanists to gain experiences in both accompanying and performing. During these regular meetings, members practised their sight-reading, accompaniment skills,
aural techniques and provided different performance guidance by experienced senior members. Members are also welcomed to bring their pieces to meetings and have discussions to increase the awareness in music. In this academic year, we are going to participate in different music activities, such as Piano Master Classes, pre-competition concert in January and a piano recital lunchtime concert held in late February. These concerts offer chances for students to acquire experience on performing. The concerts have also gained high reputation among students as the high quality of our performance. In addition, most of our members will also participate in the piano solo and duet competition in the coming 66th School Music Festival. We have new members joining us through this year and most of them are already having a high grading in piano. We are pleased to see that as that means more and more intelligent pianists are joining us to serve the school with their great skills.
