Besides the prom last Friday, we’ve also completed the final tour of the semester last week where we hopped on an open top bus and wandered around the city 🚌🌆

What makes this tour extra special was our visit to Waf Fu Estate, a landmark in Hong Kong’s public housing programme opened in 1968. As the location was remote back in the days, Wah Fu Estate was planned as a “self-sustaining township” with stores and restaurant within the area, which developed a strong sense of community within the neighborhood🫶🏻 Fun fact: Wah Fu Estate is also famous with myth of the UFO, as there were multiple reports of UFO sightings in the 80s🛸

However, Wah Fu Estate will undergo a phased demolition from 2027, marking the end of a architectural legacy and a significant chapter in Hong Kong’s history⏳

POV of Spark Global Leader Katriny during our excursion to Cheung Chau Island last Saturday🏝️ It was nice to hang out and make some new connections with you all, also to explore the scenic hiking trails and beaches, getting to know the history and culture, and trying some delicious street food in this outlying island! We hope you enjoyed the excursion with us✨

Moments of our tour yesterday exploring the local neighbourhood of Ngau Chi Wan Village and Choi Hung Estate✨

Different living conditions and lifestyle, yet they both provide a shelter, a home and community for thousands and thousands of Hong Kong people🏠🇭🇰

Time seems to move slower here with family-run businesses across generations, old grocery stores and Cha Chaan Teng that’s been here for more than 50 years⌚️

But in reality time doesn’t wait, the neighbourhood will be gone soon with the government’s urban renewal plans. The restaurant that made some delicious French Toast and Red Bean Fleecy for us will also be closed permanently in less than a month..⏳
