At the recent panel ‘Navigating Youth Safety in the Digital Age’ (co-organised by AmCham HK and Meta), our Founder Anne Sawyer shared insights on supporting student well-being in today’s fast-changing world.

Just as the Montessori approach focuses on a prepared environment for physical discovery, we must apply that same intentionality to the digital world. Children must first be empowered with personal agency and self-discipline so they can navigate AI and technology effectively.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗜?

Our founder, Karin Ann, was recently invited as a panel speaker at the HK AI Summit, joining Hong Kong’s top AI pioneers, researchers, young entrepreneurs, and investors!

Karin shared her valuable insights on "Skills and Education in the AI Era" alongside Quincy Larson, founder of freeCodeCamp and other experts, leaving the audience with this powerful reminder:

“Education should ultimately be about raising a good human being. In this fast-paced AI era, we need to let our children slow down, and bring it back to the basics - nurturing creativity, empathy, critical thinking, and hands-on skills.”

Karin was also delighted to reconnect with IMS alumni Nicholas Kan, who joined IMS at its inception in 2002 when he was 5! Nicholas is now a Civil Engineer and Urban Planner who trained at both Cornell University and HKU. It is so rewarding to hear about the achievements of our alumni!

We are thrilled to unveil our 25th-anniversary logo, inspired entirely by the incredible creativity of our students.

A few months ago, we invited students to participate in a logo design competition. We were blown away by the influx of innovative designs, each beautifully showcasing what IMS means to them. This final logo blends their brilliant ideas into one beautiful symbol, reflecting 25 years of love, growth, and student-led inspiration.
