I was delighted to deliver the welcome remarks at the Conference on x “Generative Artificial Intelligence × Environmental, Social and Governance”, held on 20–21 August at the PolyU West Kowloon Campus and online.
The conference forms part of the project “Generative Artificial Intelligence × Environmental, Social and Governance”, supported by the Research Grants Council (RGC) #研究資助局 Competitive Research Funding Scheme – Inter-Institutional Development Scheme (IIDS) (Project Reference: UGC/IIDS24/B02/25).
As Director of , the funding recipient for this initiative, and a Co-Investigator of the project, I was pleased to welcome academics, industry practitioners and participants to this timely platform for exchanging insights into the rapidly evolving intersection of GenAI and ESG.
GenAI is transforming how organisations approach sustainability, governance and social responsibility. At the same time, its development and application raise important questions concerning ethics, accountability, transparency and responsible innovation. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to explore these issues, foster interdisciplinary dialogue and develop meaningful inter-institutional collaboration.
My sincere appreciation goes to the project team, speakers, colleagues and participants whose contributions made the conference a success. I look forward to the continued exchange of ideas and further collaboration arising from this important initiative.
