【MeGoOut鄉村漫遊 | 谷埔，蘆葦蕩裡的四百年客家古村 🍂】

✨ 秋風一吹，谷埔的蘆葦就黃了。

這條位於香港新界東北沙頭角的客家村落，每逢秋冬便被大片金黃蘆葦田環繞。蘆花隨風翻湧，宛如溫柔的金色海洋。

谷埔已有近四百年歷史。自明末清初起，楊、宋、何、李等姓氏的客家人先後南遷聚居，當中以宋姓最多。村民圍海造田、築堤養魚，以種稻和捕魚維生；清末人口逾五百，曾是沙頭角第二大村落。

如今漫步谷埔，處處是歲月留下的痕跡。村落依山傍海，分為 "一肚" 至 "五肚" 五個區域，有客家方型圍村特征的老圍，也有長條型的新圍。建於上世紀三十年代的啟才學校靜靜佇立，雖已停辦，卻被列為香港三級歷史建築，靜訴著幾代村民的讀書時光。

谷埔不只有古村和靚景。🌿 紅樹林、泥灘與蘆葦田交織成獨特的鹹淡水濕地，是鳥類、魚蟹和各種小生命的家。行到攰，可以到村內小館食一餐客家黃酒雞、炆豬肉；飽一飽，再慢慢行，剛剛好。🥢

這個秋天，不妨約埋朋友去谷埔吹吹海風、睇吓蘆葦，感受香港原來仲有這樣安靜、又充滿故事的一面。🍃

如何前往 🚩

由粉嶺港鐵站外乘搭 56K 綠色專線小巴至鹿頸，再步行約 45 分鐘前往谷埔。路線可參考：鹿頸 → 雞谷樹下 → 鳳坑 → 谷埔。村內沒有公共交通直達，記得着舒服的鞋、帶夠水，預鬆啲時間慢慢行。

[K*k Po: Golden Reeds and Hakka Stories 🍂]

In autumn, K*k Po’s reed fields turn golden and sway in the coastal breeze. Near Sha Tau Kok in Hong Kong’s northeast New Territories, this historic Hakka village offers a quieter side of the city.

Take a slow walk through the village, where old houses, village lanes and Kai Choi School recall generations of local life. Beyond the village, mangroves, mudflats and reed beds create a rich wetland habitat for birds, fish, crabs and other wildlife. 🌿

After exploring, stop by a village eatery for some comforting Hakka food, then take your time to enjoy the views and stories that make K*k Po so special.

Getting there 🚩 : Take green minibus route 56K from Fanling MTR Station to Luk Keng, then walk towards K*k Po. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water, and allow plenty of time to explore.

【🌿 全國生態日｜MeGoOut 吉澳生態遊回顧】

為響應全國生態日，MeGoOut 帶同18位中學生及老師、義工走進吉澳，展開一趟沉浸式的鄉村生態遊學體驗。🚌 旅程走訪客家村落、村民農場、潮汐及魚排生態和漁民社區，讓大家在親身觀察與互動中，認識生態保育、鄉村傳統智慧、SDGs與可持續發展。🌏

在吉澳感受海風、潮汐和海岸景色🌊，也一起認識海洋保育的重要性。原來每一片海域、每一個小小的棲息地，都與不同生物息息相關，值得我們多看一眼、多珍惜一點。🐚

走進農場，同學們從植物、作物和各種小生命中，近距離認識生物多樣性。🌱 原來課本上的概念，就藏在一片葉、一株作物和農場的每個角落。這次在地體驗，也讓大家思考如何減少對環境的影響，以更負責任的方式探索自然。🌿

同學們更親手繪製環保袋、體驗鄉村藝術插花✨，為9月6日的「全國生態日專題展覽」做準備🥰。美景、美食、美作，也讓大家對海洋保育、鄉郊生態和社區故事有更多新發現。希望這趟小旅行，會令大家日後走進鄉郊時，都記得放慢腳步，細心觀察身邊的自然。💚🙌

［🌿 National Ecology Day | MeGoOut Kat O Eco-Tour Recap］

To mark National Ecology Day, MeGoOut brought 18 students, teachers and volunteers to Kat O for a rural eco-learning journey. 🌏

From Hakka villages and local farms to coastal ecosystems and fishing communities, participants explored biodiversity, marine conservation, rural wisdom and the SDGs through hands-on experiences. 🌿🌊

Students also painted eco-bags and tried rural artistic flower arrangement for the National Ecology Day exhibition on 6 September.

We hope this journey inspired everyone to slow down, observe nature and explore the countryside more responsibly. 💚

【2026全國生態日啓動禮暨研討會 · 活動精彩回顧✨】

8月15日，“2026年全國生態日啓動禮暨研討會”在香港科學館正式舉行！活動由政務司副司長卓永興、環境及生態局局長謝展寰等多位重量級嘉賓主禮，開幕致辭中特別提到香港大鵬灣獲評國家“美麗海灣”優秀案例，並現場與深圳簽署了《珊瑚保育工作及海洋生態保育公眾教育合作備忘錄》，展現香港綠色發展的決心💚。

而在隨後的研討會上，香港中文大學商學院副院長尹振英教授受邀出席，並圍繞“可持續旅遊：藝術與文化對村民和遊客的意義”發表精彩主題演講。尹教授以沙頭角“MeGoOut”鄉郊保育可持續旅遊項目為例，分享了如何打破傳統觀光模式——包括和村民一起嘗試將客家梅菜做成創意曲奇，讓傳統華服變身沉浸式Fashion Show，帶領親子家庭深度體驗鄉村環保遊學等等。🌿🏡

尹教授強調，藝術與文化的融入，真正縮短了遊客與村民之間的心理距離。遊客不再是“打卡過客”，而是與在地文化產生情感連結；村民也從“被展示者”轉變為“文化創造者”，實現社區收益與文化自信的雙贏。

[✨ National Ecology Day 2026 Event Highlights]

The National Ecology Day 2026 Launching Ceremony and Seminar was held at the Hong Kong Science Museum on 15 August.

The event was officiated by Mr. Cheuk Wing-hing, GBS, JP, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr. Tse Chin-wan, BBS, JP, Secretary for Environment and Ecology, and other guests.

The ceremony celebrated the recognition of Mirs Bay as an outstanding national “Beautiful Bay” case. Hong Kong and Shenzhen also signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation on coral conservation, marine ecology and public education. 💚

At the seminar, Professor Lisa Wan, Associate Dean of CUHK Business School shared how MeGoOut brings art and culture into sustainable rural tourism. Examples included Hakka preserved vegetable cookies, cultural fashion shows and family eco-tours.

These activities help visitors build meaningful connections with local communities while encouraging villagers to share and develop their culture.

今年全國生態日（2026年8月15日），MeGoOut 從「分享」與「實踐」兩個方向積極響應——一方面參與全國生態日研討會，分享我們在香港鄉村推動可持續旅遊的經驗；另一方面，透過生態遊及主題展覽，讓更多人親身走進鄉村、認識生態與文化。🌿🏡

🎤 研討會分享｜以可持續旅遊探索鄉村新可能

香港中文大學商學院副院長、MeGoOut項目負責人尹振英教授受邀擔任研討會主題演講嘉賓，以 「可持續旅遊：藝術與文化對村民和遊客的意義」為題，分享 MeGoOut 在香港鄉村的實踐經驗。

從客家飲食與地方文化的創新，到藝術、文化節慶及沉浸式旅遊體驗，MeGoOut 一直探索如何透過創意連結生態、文化、社區與旅遊，讓村民參與文化的共同創造，也讓遊客從「到此一遊」走向認識地方、連結社區與自然。🎭

研討會期間，我們亦與政府部門、學術及研究機構、非政府組織等不同界別交流，在生態保育、鄉村發展及文化藝術等議題上交換經驗與想法。🤝✨

This National Ecology Day, MeGoOut is supporting the initiative through both knowledge sharing and action. 🌱

【就香港五年規劃公眾諮詢提交意見｜一起為沙頭角未來出一份力！】

8月12日，MeGoOut鄉郊保育團隊聯同新界鄉議局執行委員、沙頭角區鄉事會副主席、梅子林村長曾玉安先生MH （Tsang Yuk On），就香港五年規劃公眾諮詢向政制及內地事務局提交意見書，為沙頭角的長遠發展提出建議。

沙頭角有山、有海、有小島，也有深厚的鄉村文化和獨特的邊境故事。這片土地充滿潛力，只是長久以來受交通、禁區限制及配套不足等問題影響，仍有不少改善空間。

意見書提出以下方向：
🔹 拆牆鬆綁：撤銷沙頭角禁區，釋放地區發展活力
🔹 北都出海：建設藍綠康樂旅遊生態圈，善用沙頭角的海岸及島嶼資源
🔹 口岸對接：完善口岸及交通配套，加強與深圳東部及大亞灣的連繫
🔹 鄉村振興：活化閒置建築，傳承客家及漁村文化，為鄉村注入新活力
🔹 海島旅遊及完善交通：改善外島碼頭與基建，推動「中大（馬料水）—印洲塘—荔枝窩—吉澳—鴨洲—沙頭角」黃金跳島遊
🔹 環境治理：疏浚沙頭角海灣、改善水質與航道，為綠色水上活動創造條件

我們期待沙頭角能由昔日的邊境禁區，逐步變成連繫北部都會區、深圳東部與大鵬灣的「北都明珠」。讓保育和發展一起向前，期待更多人可以走進沙頭角，認識並喜歡這個美麗的地方！

【Submitting Our Views on Hong Kong’s Five-Year Plan | Contributing to the Future of Sha Tau Kok】

On 12 August, the MeGoOut Rural Conservation Team and Mr Tsang Yuk-on, MH, jointly submitted recommendations to the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau as part of the public consultation on Hong Kong’s Five-Year Plan.

Our proposals include:
🔹 Opening up the Sha Tau Kok Frontier Closed Area
🔹 Developing a blue-green tourism network
🔹 Improving boundary-crossing and transport links
🔹 Revitalising villages and preserving Hakka and fishing culture
🔹 Launching a “CUHK (Ma Liu Shui)–Double Haven–Lai Chi Wo–Kat O–Ap Chau–Sha Tau Kok” island-hopping route
🔹 Dredging Sha Tau Kok Bay and improving its waterways

We believe conservation and development can move forward together—creating new opportunities while preserving the landscapes, culture and communities that make Sha Tau Kok unique. ✨

[A New Dish at CUHK Orchid Lodge｜Hakka Salt-Baked Chicken Meets Cold Noodles 🍜🌿]

Orchid Lodge is well known for its signature CUHK French toast—but now there is another dish worth trying! This summer, the restaurant is serving a refreshing Hakka fusion cold noodle dish inspired by Kat O 😋

In this video, Professor Lisa Wan, Associate Dean at CUHK Business School and Project Leader of MeGoOut, visits Orchid Lodge to try its new dish—“Cold Noodles with Hakka Salt-Baked Chicken and Sesame Sauce.” 😍

The idea came from the Orchid Lodge team’s participation in MeGoOut’s Hakka Cooking Competition on Kat O on 9 May. 🥢✨

Bringing the flavours of Kat O to the CUHK dining table, this dish allows rural culture to be tasted, shared and remembered.

【💚 攜手推動生態旅遊，共創香港鄉郊新故事🤝✨】

由鄉郊保育辦公室（鄉郊保育 Countryside Conservation HK）資助、香港中文大學酒店及旅遊管理學院主辦的 「華服映吉澳．共融慶回歸」鄉村文化共融慶典圓滿舉行。活動當日，800多位市民及旅客走進大鵬明珠吉澳，透過華服文化、客家故事、創意時裝、非遺表演及多元文化體驗 ，在吉澳相聚交流，感受可持續旅遊。🦁🥁

活動的成功，有賴大家的信任與支持。💚

📚 教育局課程發展處組織超過120 位老師及學生參與 MeGoOut 導賞團，透過實地體驗認識香港鄉郊與客家文化，可持續旅遊及共融理念，讓學習走出課堂，走進社區。🌿

🙏 鄉郊保育辦公室一直支持香港鄉郊保育及可持續旅遊發展，讓 MeGoOut 得以將創新的旅遊模式與文化保育理念帶進沙頭角鄉村。

💚【Working Together for Sustainable Tourism, Creating New Stories for Hong Kong's Rural Communities】🤝✨

Funded by the Countryside Conservation Office and organised by the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), the MeGoOut Festival of Rural Culture and Inclusion successfully brought together 800+ visitors to celebrate Hakka culture, rural heritage, and sustainable tourism in Kat O. 🌿

📚 The Curriculum Development Institute (CDI) of the Education Bureau organised a study tour for 120+ teachers and students, who joined the MeGoOut Guided Tour to explore Kat O and learn about Hong Kong's rural heritage, Hakka culture, sustainable tourism, and inclusion.
