The final round presentation of the HKIE Student Chapters Joint Institutes Competition with the theme of "Green Living in Hong Kong" was held on April 11, 2015 in the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong.

Dear All,

ITD (Information Technology Division, HKIE) is supporting the Robocon 2015 HK Contest (http://www.roboconhk.com/2015/english/) and would like to invite some student helpers to assist with the competition, details are as follows:

Manpower for Robocon 2015 Hong Kong Contest on June 27-28

1. Work Schedule of Rehearsal:

Date: June 27, 2015 (SAT)
Time: 9:30am – 5:00pm
Venue: Ocean View Court, The Arcade, Cyberport (數碼港商場)
Dress Code: Casual

2. Work Schedule of Contest Day

Date: June 28, 2015 (SUN)
Time: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Venue: Ocean View Court, The Arcade, Cyberport (數碼港商場)
Dress Code: A staff T-shirt or Polo will be provided. Please wear long pants or jeans and sneakers.

Job Descriptions

Security (2 helpers)
- To patrol on the event day for crowd control;
- To monitor the entry into the pit crew area.

In & Out (2 helpers)
- To monitor the move in of contestants in the morning on 27 and 28 June;
- To liaise the in and out arrangements of contestants during test-run and each game;
- To check the color of jackets for both teams before each game;

Registration (2 helpers)
- To issue Admission Pass for Committee Members, Contestants, Staff Members;
- To check the arrival of Guest of Honor, honored guests, and to inform

secretariat and MC;
- To manage the reception table;
- To brief all the guests about their duties on stage;
- To settle the seating arrangements for all the guests;
- To manage the reception table.

Helpers near the stage (2 helpers)
- To pass souvenirs to the award presenters
- To deliver contest material to judges sitting on stage

Control Panel (1 helper)
- To assist the scoring team in calculating and presenting the team scores

Score Board (1 helper)
- To manage the Scoring Board;
- To update the results shown on the foam board in the venue.

Referee Team (2 helpers)
- To assist the Referees and time/scorekeepers in the smooth running of the game

Vetting Team (2 helpers)
- To execute the vetting arrangements on 27 June and 28 June;
- To fix labels on Robots that are passed in the final vetting on 27 June morning;
- To check all the Robots that are fixed with labels before let them going in the game field.

Total: 14 helpers per day for Rehearsal and Contest

[Event Promotion] Engineers' Night 2015

Engineer's Night is an important annual event which is co-organized by 8 Student Chapters. Its objective is to provide engineering students with an opportunity to communicate with some junior engineers. We hope students can have a better understanding in their engineering fields so as to inspire their future dreams.

Correlating to this year’s theme of HKIE, the theme of this banquet is 'Prelude to Success'. We would like to invite you to this meaningful event. Regarding the event details, it is shortlisted below :
Date : 27th February(Fri), 2015
Time : 19:00 - 22:00 (Reception period starts at 6:15 pm)
Venue : 南北小廚, 4/F, Communal Building, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom
Fee: $100/head

The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers

Unique University Experience | HKIE Student Chapters Joint Institutes Competition
Happy New Year Engineering Students! The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) Student Chapters, together with the HKIE divisions are holding the HKIESC Joint Institutes Competition 2014/15 - “Green Living in Hong Kong”.
All the student members of the HKIE are invited to join the proposal competition. Student members shall form a team of 2-5 members and write proposals regarding the environmental issues in Hong Kong.
Cash prizes will be given to the award winners with the following distribution:
Champion: HKD$10,000 cash
1st runner up: HKD$5,000 cash
2nd runner up: HKD$3,000 cash
