The Philippines has a long history of exporting its musical talents to Hong Kong. Since the middle of the 20th century, Filipino musicians have played an important role in the musical scene of the city.
Jennifer Palor, dubbed “The most exciting jazz vocalist in Asia”, is one of the most in-demand vocalists and the voice of many commercial advertisements in Hong Kong. In this sharing, Jennifer is going to talk about how she, as an ethnic minority, tackled racial injustice along the process and finally achieved her career success. She will also introduce the history of the cultural tide between Filipino musicians and Hong Kong, as well as share her perspectives on the rise and fall of the local music industry.
The chance to hear Jennifer’s live singing will definitely be a bonus!
🇲🇾 Malaysian Entrepreneur Nicole Wong

Born and raised in Malaysia, and having worked in multiple Southeast Asian countries, Nicole now owns a fruit jam’s brand in Hong Kong. In this event, she will share how she started from the scratch in Hong Kong and how her Southeast Asian background helped her build a successful career through thick and thin. As an outlander, Nicole will also talk about her different perspectives compared with local people on various aspects, such as social habits, parenting. The participants will have a chance to get the gifts handpicked by Nicole.

Hello CC freshmen/incoming exchange students 👋 CCIA is here to give you all a grand welcoming to your undergraduate life at CUHK at the International Orientation Night🚀
In this event, you will be hearing many experience sharing from local and international seniors here at Chung Chi College, meeting your fellow classmates, as well as getting to know Chung Chi people which you will be in contact for your entire study period and beyond🙆🏻♂️🙆🏻♀️
The event will be hosted on Friday, September 24th at Chung Chi Alumni Room from 6pm to 8pm. Students residing outside Hong Kong are also welcome to join our synchronous zoom meeting virtually, so make sure to register for the event!
