What inspired Annie to pursue Public Health? And how did her university journey shape her dream of making a global health impact?

Meet ๐€๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ž ๐๐ , our Year 4 BSc in Public Health student, whose learning journey has taken her far beyond the classroom, from engaging with local communities to participating in a field study tour in Taiwan, and ultimately joining a practicum in Cambodia.

Through these experiences, Annie discovered that public health is more than preventing disease, itโ€™s about improving lives, empowering communities, and creating lasting impact across borders.

Our Undergraduate students recently completed an overseas field study in Thailand, where they explored different approaches to health promotion through experiential learning and cultural exchange.

Throughout the journey, students engaged with healthcare professionals, visited a variety of community and healthcare settings, participated in interactive learning activities, and exchanged ideas with local partners. Every experience offered valuable insights into how public health is promoted in different contexts while highlighting the importance of collaboration, community engagement, and cultural understanding. ๐Ÿ’ก

Kickstarting our study tour โ€œInside WHO: Public Health Discovery Journey,โ€ 15 students from BSc in Public Health, Community Health Practice, and Gerontology arrived in the Philippines and caught some local sights yesterday. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธโœจ

Today, we visited the College of Public Health, University of the Philippines (UP) Manila.๐Ÿ“šโœจ It was an incredible morning of academic exchange.
