【】✨青年科技專才展覽及比賽 2026✨

由工程及科技學會香港分會 (IET Hong Kong) 青年會員部主辦的青年科技專才展覽及比賽 2026（YPEC 2026），已於 7 月 19 日假中大康本國際學術園圓滿舉行。一直以來，YPEC 致力為年輕工程師及學生提供展示創新意念的平台，鼓勵創新思維，並培育新一代工程人才。🚀

今屆比賽以「Empact」為主題，參賽隊伍透過創新的工程方案回應現實挑戰，並為社會創造正面影響。活動匯聚 82 支隊伍、逾 300 名參加者及 32 位評審。透過項目展覽、簡報匯報及交流活動，YPEC 促進學術界、業界及青年創新人才之間的聯繫與合作，共同推動創新發展。

中大知識轉移事務處（KTO）很榮幸參與及支持這項具意義的活動，攜手培育青年人才，推動創新工程理念轉化為切實可行的解決方案，為社會帶來更大價值及正面影響。🚀

✨ Younger Professionals Exhibition & Competition 2026 ✨

The Young Professionals Exhibition & Competition 2026 (YPEC 2026), organized by The IET Hong Kong Younger Members Section (YMS), was successfully held on 19 July 2026 at Yatsumoto International Academic Park, CUHK. As a platform for young engineers and students to showcase innovative ideas, YPEC continues to promote innovation and talent development. 🚀

Under the theme "Empact" this year, participants presented engineering solutions addressing real-world challenges and creating positive impact. YPEC 2026 brought together 82 teams, over 300 participants and 32 judges, highlighting the creativity and passion of emerging engineering talent.

Through project exhibitions, presentations and networking opportunities, the event fostered collaboration between academia, industry and young innovators.

Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO), CUHK was honoured to contribute this meaningful initiative, which nurtures young talent and promotes the translation of innovative engineering ideas into practical solutions that create positive impact for society. 🚀

【】中大知識轉移事務處支持 HATCH x MagIC 2026 人才培育計劃✨

由兒童腸道微生物醫學創科中心（HATCH）及香港微生物菌群創新中心（MagIC）合辦的「HATCH人才培育計劃2026」，於2026年7月20日至24日在中大 InnoPort 舉行。

計劃透過微生物組研究及生命科學的實踐培訓與師友指導，培育本地青年，啟發新一代投身產學研發展。

為期一週的活動設有工作坊及實踐活動，讓參加者探索心理健康、社區參與及特殊教育需要（SEN）等議題。

我們支持這項有意義的人才培育計劃，助力青年發展，培養未來的創新領袖。💡

KTO Support on HATCH x MagIC Talent Development Programme 2026✨

From 20 to 24 July 2026, the HATCH x MagIC Talent Development Programme was held at InnoPort, CUHK. The programme aimed to nurture local youth through hands-on training and mentorship in microbiome research and life sciences, inspiring a new generation of leaders in industry, academia and research (產學研) in Hong Kong.

Throughout the week, participants took part in workshops and practical activities exploring topics including mental health, community participation and special educational needs (SEN).

We are pleased to support this meaningful initiative in empowering young talents and fostering the next generation of innovation leaders. 💡

【CUbicZine】A Decade In, EdTech Pioneer Sees Education at a Crossroads | Tony Xin Explains Why AI’s Seamless Experience May Hide Deeper Challenges

In June this year, the Hong Kong Government unveiled the “Blueprint for Digital Education Development in Primary and Secondary Schools”, accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence into education. Generative AI has rapidly found its way into classrooms and “model answers” become just a click away. As a result, a fundamental question emerges: What is the core value of school education?

Haiyang Xin(Tony), who holds a PhD in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, founded CocoRobo ten years ago. He has built STEM curricula and AI learning platforms that today serve hundreds of schools across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

In this issue of CUbicZine, we follow the entrepreneurial journey of this Hong Kong drifter scholar, discover how he has chosen to respond to the relentless tide of technological change—not by moving faster, but by building educational products with greater care, purpose, and responsibility.

【A Special Appreciation Lunch for Professor Sham✨】

Colleagues from the Knowledge Transfer Office were delighted to gather for a special appreciation lunch in honour of Prof. Sham, Pro-Vice-Chancellor / Vice-President (Research) and Choh-Ming Li Professor of Biomedical Sciences at CUHK.

Since 2020, Prof. Sham has guided our Office with visionary leadership and provided the strategic direction that has shaped our growth and development. She has been a driving force in advancing knowledge transfer, fostering impactful collaborations, and strengthening connections between the University, industry and the wider community.

During the gathering, Prof. Sham and Prof. Allen Chan, Associate Vice-President (Knowledge Transfer), shared encouraging remarks and inspired colleagues to continue advancing CUHK’s knowledge transfer mission and translating research excellence into meaningful impact.💡

【】KTO InnoPort X CUHK Summer Institute – Startup Detective X Human Library Workshop 🧐 🔍

2026年7月17日，創博館與學術交流處（OAL）合辦「Startup Detective x Human Library Workshop」，作為 Summer Institute 2026 的活動之一，吸引本地及國際高中生參與。

學生透過互動「創業偵探」遊戲及創辦人分享，探索不同的創業故事，並與中大startup founders深入交流。感謝4位founders——羊仔 (Soul Island)、Claudia (CancerCompanion)、Vincent (Doko Tech) 及 Aaron (Palsara Limited) 分享寶貴的經驗。💡

是次活動由啟發好奇到加深理解，讓高中同學對中大創新創業及知識轉移生態有更清晰的認識。🌱

On 17 July 2026, InnoPort welcomed a vibrant group of local and international high school students to the “Startup Detective x Human Library Workshop”, part of Summer Institute 2026 in collaboration with OAL.

Through an interactive detective-style game and founder sharing, students explored real startup stories, uncovered innovation clues, and engaged directly with CUHK entrepreneurs. A big thank you to our 4 inspiring speakers—Wanki (Soul Island), Claudia (CancerCompanion), Vincent (Doko Tech), and Aaron (Palsara Limited)—for bringing entrepreneurship to life. 💡

From curiosity to clarity, the workshop offered a meaningful glimpse into CUHK’s innovation and knowledge transfer ecosystem. 🌱

【 #活動回顧】2026 年「同心聚力科創未來」港澳青年浙江行

2026年7月2日至5日，「同心聚力科創未來」港澳青年浙江行在杭州舉行。活動匯聚來自港澳12所高校及科研機構逾260名青年科創人才，攜106個創新項目赴浙江開展產業考察、項目路演及合作對接，進一步深化浙港澳三地在科技創新與產業協同方面的交流合作。

香港中文大學今年由副校長(研究) 岑美霞教授、知識轉移事務處王家達處長率團參與，帶領13支創新團隊赴杭交流，項目涵蓋人工智能、生命健康、新能源新材料等重點領域，與當地科創平台、龍頭企業及投資機構展開深入對接，展示本校科研成果及轉化潛力。是次活動主題與中大科研策略方向高度契合，尤其在生命健康領域，更與本校長期深耕的優勢範疇相呼應。

活動期間，代表團分線走訪杭州人工智能小鎮、未來科技城、具身智能展示中心及商業航天企業等創新高地，近距離了解浙江在人工智能、生命健康及新能源新材料等戰略性新興產業的發展成果。從機器人應用場景到生物醫藥產業鏈布局，從創新平台建設到企業實際應用案例，行程緊扣產業發展現況，讓師生親身感受內地完善的製造基礎與廣闊市場空間，啟發科研成果如何更有效對接真實場景，加快落地轉化。

大會設有專場路演及產業對接環節，匯聚浙江多個地市的科創平台、產業基金、龍頭企業及新生代企業家代表，為港澳青年團隊提供直接交流機會。中大團隊在現場展示研究成果，圍繞技術應用、產業需求及市場拓展方向與潛在合作夥伴深入交流，進一步了解內地創科生態與投資環境，為未來合作奠定基礎。

岑美霞教授表示，鼓勵同學「讀萬卷書，更要行萬里路」，透過實地參訪與跨地域交流拓寬視野、建立網絡。她指出，香港擁有國際化科研環境與專業服務優勢，浙江則具備完整產業鏈與高效成果轉化能力，兩地優勢互補，結合起來可發揮「一加一大於二」的協同效應。是次交流讓學生在產業現場獲得啟發，對個人發展與科研規劃均具正面影響。

連續舉辦多年的「港澳青年浙江行」已成為浙港澳青年交流的重要品牌活動。今年活動更聚焦科技創新與產業協同，為青年科研團隊提供更具針對性的合作平台。香港中文大學將繼續發揮科研優勢與知識轉移力量，積極推動與內地產業及創新平台的深度合作，支持青年團隊走出實驗室、走進產業現場，促進科研成果轉化落地，為國家科技創新發展貢獻力量。

由香港貿易發展局主辦的「創業快綫2026『終極決選日』」已於2026年6月25日在香港會議展覽中心舉行。計劃旨在發掘並培育具全球視野的高潛力初創企業，推動香港發展成為國際創新科技樞紐。

HKTDC Start-up Express 2026

The final pitching session of the HKTDC Start-up Express 2026 was held on 25 June 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the initiative supports Hong Kong's strategic development as an international innovation and technology hub by identifying and nurturing high-potential start-ups with global vision.

Start-up Express is a flagship entrepreneurship development programme designed to empower innovative ventures through comprehensive support, including marketing and promotional opportunities, investor matching, business networking, and partnership development. Each year, 10 outstanding start-ups are selected to receive extensive exposure locally and internationally.

In 2022, generative AI took the world by storm, and its development has ever since advanced at lightning speed. Today, AI has become integrated into daily life – we enjoy its convenience while also being alarmed by its potential. As the era of human-machine coexistence dawns, how should we position ourselves?

In an exclusive interview, InnoPort sought the insights of Professor Kwan Tze-wan, founder of the CUHK Research Centre for Humanities Computing and Professor Emeritus of the Department of Philosophy at CUHK. We also invited Professor Lau Chong-fuk from the Department of Philosophy at CUHK, to explore the transformation and future of human identity, emotions, and values in the AI era.
