What a wonderful afternoon! It was great to see alumni, families, and friends from HKUST Northern California Chapter and CUHK Silicon Valley Chapter come together for good food, fun conversations, Human Bingo, and lots of new connections. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ–

One of the best parts of the day was seeing people from both alumni communities meet, mingle, and build new friendships.

Despite the blazing summer heat in Shenzhen, the enthusiasm at the HKUST Engineering Alumni Unicorn Trail 2026 burned even brighter! Nearly 40 SENG alumni, friends, and family joined our faculty and staff for an exclusive journey through the Greater Bay Area's vibrant innovation ecosystem, exploring groundbreaking technologies developed by our own visionary alumni entrepreneurs.

The high-tech trail began at ๐˜ฟ๐™…๐™„ ๐™Ž๐™ ๐™ฎ ๐˜พ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ, where participants stepped into the drone leader's iconic twin-tower headquarters, and discovered the latest in drone technology. The group then headed to ๐™“๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ค ๐˜ฟ๐™ฎ๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ข๐™ž๐™˜๐™จ for live demonstrations and some even had the unique opportunity to try on the wearable exoskeleton systems powered by robotics, biomechanics, and AI. The inspiring day concluded at the newly opened ๐™ƒ๐™†๐™๐™Ž๐™ ๐˜ฝ๐™ก๐™ช๐™š ๐˜ฝ๐™–๐™ฎ ๐™Œ๐™ž๐™–๐™ฃ๐™๐™–๐™ž ๐™„๐™ฃ๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ซ๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ ๐˜พ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง, a dedicated incubator driving the growth of startups founded by HKUST faculty and alumni. This visit offered a glimpse into HKUSTโ€™s growing footprint in the GBA, and capped off with closing remarks from the Dean of Engineering, Prof. Hong K. LO.
