DBS Robotics hosted our Annual General Meeting on the 17th of September, where our captains Tristan and Trevor laid out the vision and direction for the 26-27 academic year. Reflecting on our most successful season yet — 9 awards, 4 media reports, and 204 members, they mapped out the road ahead for Team Sigma, Team Delta, and PRISM, setting clear goals for the year to come. With a renewed sense of purpose and ambition, we look forward to building on our momentum and reaching new heights together.

We hosted our 26-27 FTC Kickoff Meeting for the Biobuzz season on 13/9, where our FTC teams gathered to dive into the new challenge. By bringing both seasoned FTC veterans and rookies together, we hope that all our members can learn something from each other as they innovate throughout this upcoming new season. We're exploring new strategies, building awesome robots, and on a mission to Reimagine Opportunities for Youth Advancement and Learning!

We visited Hong Kong City University's newly inaugurated East Tsim Sha Tsui campus to explore strategic partnerships and discuss the future of STEAM education in Hong Kong.

During our visit, we met with CityU professor, Dr Ray Cheung, our unwavering supporter and mentor, to discuss our "Hour of Code HK" initiative—a program designed to make robotics and coding accessible to students across the city. We explored their world-class facilities and shared our vision for scaling youth education and innovation.

This partnership matters because we believe in building bridges between institutions, industry, and young people, creating pathways for the next generation of engineers and problem-solvers to Reimagine Opportunities for Youth Advancement and Learning.

If you're a parent or educator with young people passionate about STEAM, we welcome you to join Hour of Code Hong Kong. The programme is open to students of all backgrounds and will be held on a weekly/biweekly basis.

Our annual Parents' Info Day & Tech Showcase brought together our community yesterday to see what DBS Robotics is building.

Five student leaders shared their stories and our vision for the future. We hosted a panel with Isaac To—Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient, former Disney Imagineer, now COO of an Oxford-based AI/Robotics startup—alongside alumni from Cambridge and UC Berkeley. And everyone got hands-on time with our robots and projects.

We're recruiting now for the 2026–27 season. If you have any enquiries regarding PRISM or Delta, reach out our student leadership team directly.

This is a program that changes how students think about building, leadership, and what's possible.

We look forward to building the next cohort of future engineers!

Moreover, it's a night to celebrate the bonds we've built and the journey we're on together. 🚀 A special happy birthday to Isaac, whose passion and guidance shape everything we do.

We're looking for brilliant minds ready to think differently and build boldly. Whether you're passionate about robotics, engineering, or making an impact as a DBS student, DBS Robotics is the place for you. Come join us at our info day on 5th September!

As we approach next season, we pause to reflect on the late nights, setbacks, and breakthroughs that defined our year.

This FRC season brought unprecedented success: Winning Alliance and FIRST Impact Award at Marmara Regional, Finalist Alliance and Industrial Design at Avrasya, and Quality Award at Shanghai. DBS Robotics returned to World Championships after 15 years, ranking 18/75 in Hopper Division. We placed 83/3724 globally and 2nd in China. In FTC, we claimed the Hong Kong Championship for the third consecutive year.

Beyond results, we logged 1,850 service hours, championing education through partnerships with Hour of Code HK and CityU HK. With 10 new sponsors and 164% member growth to 210, we collaborated with Disneyland, MIT InnoNode, and more. Graduating alumnus Kyle Leung earned a perfect IBDP score and heads to UC Berkeley for ECE.

This season wasn’t just about winning. This season was about growing together, impacting our community, and fueling STEAM passions.

Thank you to Headmaster Mr Cheng; Dean Cho; teachers Mr Lee, Ms Chan, Mr Wong; coaches and alumni Isaac, Aaron, Fergus, Ernest, Josh, Austin, Justin; outgoing captains Issac and Luke; teammates; mentors; sponsors; and partners. Here’s to a ROYAL next season.
