Sᴜᴍᴍᴇʀ Tʀᴀɪɴɪɴɢ ꜰᴏʀ Pʀᴇꜰᴇᴄᴛꜱ

Cultivating leadership qualities in students remains a key goal of the Prefects’ Council. This summer, our prefects completed two primary training initiatives: the Professional Conduct Enhancement Training (PCET) and the annual Prefects’ Training Camp.

Organized by the Committee Board, the PCET welcomed 22 newly recruited prefects. Participants engaged in team-building exercises, daily duty orientation, and communication workshops designed to help them excel in their new roles.

This was followed by the annual Prefects’ Training Camp, held in collaboration with the Jockey Club Cheung Chau Don Bosco Youth Centre. Through challenging high-rope activities, the two-day camp tested physical endurance while strengthening teamwork and leadership.

The Head Prefect extends sincere gratitude to teacher advisors Mr. Y. H. Li, Ms. L. N. Chan, Mr. F. Y. Chu, and Ms. T. Chow; Head Trainer Mr. Wong and his team at the Don Bosco Youth Centre; and the Committee Board for their dedication. We remain committed to serving as role models, supporting school events, and fostering a positive campus environment.

Last Saturday, we warmly welcomed Form 1 parents to an orientation session introducing our educational journey at the school.
Our Principal, Mr. Michael Mak, shared insights into the evolving role of parents during the primary-to-secondary transition and previewed our upcoming 175th Anniversary events.
Mr. Philip Yeung and Mr. Chris Chan then provided an overview of the work of the Parent Teacher Association and the College Foundation.
To outline our academic structure, Ms. W. S. Wong, Vice Principal, explained our comprehensive curriculum framework and development model, while Ms. S. C. Yu, Assistant Vice Principal, introduced the school’s pedagogy and assessment mechanisms. Following this, Ms. P. W. Cheung, Mr. L. H. Ho, and Ms. H. Y. Chan highlighted the features of our English Language, Science, and Integrated Humanities curricula.
Addressing digital education, Mr. W. H. P**n, Assistant Vice Principal, outlined our BYOD policy while Mr. T. F. Ng, Assistant Vice Principal, detailed holistic development and school team recruitment.
In addition, Mr. K. C. Chan, Vice Principal, provided vital information on school administration and our attendance policy.
The event concluded with an opportunity for parents to meet Form Teachers and ask questions about the new academic year. It was wonderful to see our Form 1 families embark on this exciting milestone together.

"𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆" — 𝟭𝟳𝟱 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

To celebrate our 175th Anniversary, we are proud to introduce a unique Art x STREAM community project titled "𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆". Uniting student creativity, legacy, and innovation, our students spent the past five months designing a customized SPC Tram — a project that honors our heritage while stepping boldly into the future of technology.

For the interior showcase, our Form 2 students collaborated to create interactive AI storybooks about our school heritage, alumni legacy and local Hong Kong stories. Through community research, field studies and interviews with alumni across different areas, they harnessed AI tools to transform the stories into interactive digital storybooks that are accessible to the public.

Both the interior artwork and exterior design of the tram were brought to life by our talented team of student designers: Lai Akio (F.6C), Chan Yin Wai (F.5A), Choi Ho Yan (F.5C), Tse Ka Ho Kendrew (F.4C) and Li Mingbo (F.4C). The exterior, which was partially hand-painted by students, vividly captures the vibrant, all-round school life of Paulines — from athletic activities and scientific experiments to musical collaborations — celebrating the shared memories and spirit of our student community.

A heartfelt thank you to all our distinguished alumni for sharing their invaluable journeys across diverse fields, and to the HKSKH Welfare Council and the HKSKH Western District Elderly Community Centre for welcoming our students to capture local stories that enrich our shared HK narrative. Special thanks also to the College Council and the Foundation for their support in making this project possible.

The SPC Tram will be travelling around the city from 25 August to 21 September 2026. We invite you to keep an eye out for it as it journeys across Hong Kong!

Wɪɴɴᴇʀ ᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ Mᴀʀɪɴᴇ Pʟᴀꜱᴛɪᴄ Iɴɴᴏᴠᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ Cʜᴀʟʟᴇɴɢᴇ

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that a team of our students - Wong Tse Yu Clarence from class 4D, Miao Tai, Milas Mitch Christopher, Tsui Ting Him and Wei Tsz Yam from class 4F - has been named one of the 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟱 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 at the Marine Plastic Innovative Challenge, organised by Ocean Park as part of the Jockey Club Marine Plastic Challenge Education Programme! This prestigious competition called upon young innovators across Hong Kong to develop creative solutions to combat marine plastic pollution, and our students rose to the challenge with remarkable ingenuity, engineering skills and perseverance.

Their winning project, 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼-𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱, tackled the pressing issue of marine plastic waste through washing machine eluent filtering with biomimic filter, demonstrating not only their outstanding STEAM capabilities but also their deep sense of environmental responsibility. From conceptualising ideas and constructing 3D model prototypes to presenting their proposals before a panel of expert judges, our students dedicated countless hours of hard work and collaborative effort.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Principal Mr. Mak, Ms. Kwok (Convenor of STEAM Team), Ms. Chan (Convenor of Sustainability in Education Team) and Mr. Ng (Teacher Advisor), for their unwavering guidance and support. This achievement is a testament to the spirit of innovation and excellence that we strive to nurture at St. Paul’s College.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗢𝗚 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 🤖

We are pleased to share that Wong Pak Yan (F.1D) achieved a fantastic result as part of the First Runner-up team at the ROBOG Asia Cup 2026, held recently in Hong Kong.

This premier robotics and AI arena brought together elite youth teams from across Asia and beyond — including Thailand, Vietnam, and Russia — to compete in an intensive AI robot challenge. Working with advanced modular robot configurations, the participants had to integrate complex AI computer vision, programming, and real-time tactics. Pak Yan and his team demonstrated great technical skill and strategy throughout the tournament to secure their podium finish.

This achievement is especially commendable as Pak Yan took part in this advanced engineering challenge entirely on his own personal initiative and dedication.

Congratulations to Pak Yan on an exceptional performance and a well-deserved first runner-up placement in Asia! 🥈🌟
