🏛️ 校長與校方的全力支持;
👨‍🏫 教練與老師們的悉心指導與陪伴;

On 22 May, the English Editorial Team of Wayfarer 2025–26 was received at the Hong Kong Police Headquarters in Wan Chai. Student Editors Cheung Ting Yu (F.5C), Wong Pak Yin (F.5B), and Kwok Yui Shu (F.5E) sat down with our distinguished alumnus, Mr. Chow Yat-ming, Joe, PMSM (Class of 1990), Commissioner of Police, for an insightful dialogue exploring his journey from his years at the College to his leadership of the Hong Kong Police Force.

The discussion centred on these core themes:

🔹 𝗙𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀
Mr. Chow looked back on his fondest school memories, shared the advice he would give his teenage self, and explored how the everyday experiences he had at SPC became watershed moments for personal growth and resilience.

🔹 𝗔 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲
Mr. Chow discussed how the culture of SPC, the College Motto, and the core precepts of “Justice, Honour, Truth, and Virtue” inspired his path in law enforcement and his leadership ethos of “One Force”.

🔹 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆
Reflecting on both his family ties and the broader St. Paul’s community, Mr. Chow examined why Pauline camaraderie remains uniquely enduring, and how initiatives like “Paul’s Legacy” can equip students with the strategic skills to navigate real-world uncertainties.

We would like to thank Mr. Chow for generously sharing his time and insights. Full coverage of this interview will be featured in the upcoming 2025–26 issue of 𝙒𝙖𝙮𝙛𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙧. 📚✨

We are thrilled to announce that St. Paul's College has clinched the championship title in the first-ever Youth League – School Division 2026, organized by Hockey HK!

Our team delivered a phenomenal performance throughout the tournament, from the intense preliminary rounds all the way to the thrilling grand final against DBS. A special shout-out goes to our defenders and goalkeeper, whose outstanding saves secured clean sheets throughout the tournament. Meanwhile, our powerhouse team dominated the field, scoring an impressive 17 goals across 5 games!

Following this spectacular triumph, SPC was cordially invited to play a prestigious exhibition match against the All-Stars team at the King’s Park Hockey Ground on 23 May 2026. This was a golden opportunity for our boys to showcase their skills in front of a massive crowd during the Guv Dillon Cup Finals, one of the most anticipated events in the local hockey community.

To make the day even more memorable, our Principal, Mr. Mak, was invited as the Guest of Honour. Accompanied by Mr. Billy Dillon, the President of Hockey HK, he witnessed the action and cheered passionately for our team members!

Congratulations to all the players and coaches for making history. Your dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship have made the entire SPC family incredibly proud!

Our English Drama Club took the stage once again this year at the highly anticipated English Drama Fest 2026, organised by the Association of English Medium Secondary Schools. Competing with confidence against other top EMI schools, the team presented their compelling original production, 𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙎𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 — a dystopian story exploring trauma in a world where proxies bear the emotional scars of others. With strong acting and intense flashbacks, the 15-minute piece stood out for its emotional depth and sharp ex*****on.

The students’ outstanding effort earned them impressive recognition with the following awards:

The 2nd Homecoming Day was successfully held on 16th May 2026, bringing together over 200 alumni and their families. Organised by the College and co-hosted by the SPCAA and the College Foundation, the event provided a valuable opportunity for alumni to reconnect and celebrate their shared heritage.

A highlight of the day was the participation of the Classes of 1975, 1985, and 2005, who returned in school uniform for their 50th, 40th, and 20th anniversary graduation photos. We were honoured to welcome Prof. Raymond Liang Hin-suen (Class of 1972), who delivered an inspiring sharing at the morning assembly. Principal Mr. Mak also shared updates on the upcoming milestones leading to our 175th anniversary. Former Principal Mr. Ha’s school notices attracted considerable interest, with his distinctive and signature tone adding to the nostalgic atmosphere.

A wide range of activities took place across the campus:

📸 The “Good Old Days” exhibition in Gallant Ho Hall featured SPC memorabilia and over 100 swimming photographs.

🎡 Nearby, participants tried their luck at a capsule machine to win a variety of souvenirs.

🤖 An AI booth showcased innovative applications of artificial intelligence in education.

🎨 Student artwork from the SPC Spain trip was displayed in the Form 4 classrooms.

⛪ The newly established Alumni Christian Fellowship also held a meaningful gathering in the chapel, fostering a strong sense of community and spiritual connection.

Despite the rainy weather, the table tennis tournament in the gymnasium and the inaugural Alumni Swimming Gala at the Tse Yu Chuen Indoor Swimming Pool were both well received.

The School extends its heartfelt gratitude to all organising committees, current and former teachers, alumni, prefects, Student Association members, and Red Cross members for their dedication and support.

On 1 May 2026, the St Paul’s College Foundation hosted its 3rd Fundraising Gala Dinner at Cloud 39, Henderson. Set against a stunning harbour view, the evening celebrated our Pauline “La Famiglia” spirit through a vibrant and memorable programme. Highlights included heartfelt performances, a lively Q&A session hosted by our talented students — Ryan Chiang (F.5F), Jacky Wong (F.5B), and Solomon Zeng (F.3B) — and inspiring student showcases featuring the Action Learning Programme (Andy Lin, F.5D), the iGEM Competition (Daniel Tsang and Hugo Tsang, both F.4F), and the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Competition (Ethan Ng and Brandon Yeung, both F.4F).

The evening also featured two warm and engaging fireside chat sessions with the Yung family and the Au-Yeung family, alongside inspiring sharing by our distinguished alumni, Professor David Hui and Professor Ron Hui.

A key highlight of the evening was the official launch of the St Paul’s College Innovation Fund. During the onstage presentation, Mr Ken Yeung, representing the Foundation’s PR & C Committee, outlined the Fund’s mission to embed innovation within the College curriculum. Dr. Kirk Ma shared plans for campus enhancement, including the transformation of the GS Room of the Primary School into an innovation hub and the further integration of STEAM and cross-curricular learning. Mr. Michael Mak highlighted the College’s continued commitment to supporting students in STEAM education, ethical AI learning, and participation in global competitions, all aimed at nurturing creativity and problem-solving skills.

This gala marked a significant milestone for the Pauline community — a meaningful occasion that celebrates our shared heritage while reaffirming our commitment to the future of our students. Building on the success of this year’s event, we look forward to welcoming even more alumni, parents, teachers, students, and friends of St Paul’s College to support the St Paul’s College Innovation Fund in the years ahead, as we anticipate another memorable gathering next year.
