International Literacy Day πŸ“šπŸ’™

A child reads a bedtime story. Years later, that same child reads a science experiment, a university application, a news article, a poem, a map, an email, or a friend's message.

Every journey begins with words.

Literacy is not a single lesson or a single subject. It is the thread that runs through every classroom, every conversation, and every opportunity to learn. It empowers students to ask questions, challenge ideas, express themselves, and understand the world around them 🌍✨.

At NAIS Hong Kong, we see literacy come to life every day, from stories shared in Early Years and a growing love of reading in Primary, to research in Secondary, discussions in Sixth Form, and countless moments of curiosity in between. πŸ“šπŸ’™

Because when students learn to read, they begin to learn about the world. When they learn to love reading, they begin to shape it.

What book, article, or story has stayed with you the longest? πŸ“–πŸ’

There’s something rather special about the few seconds before an audition begins. 🎭

A deep breath. A glance towards the music. And then… you’re on.

This week, our Primary students have been auditioning for Annie Jr., filling the room with songs, characters and plenty of personality.

For some, stepping forward came naturally. For others, simply walking into the audition room was an achievement worth celebrating. But one by one, they gave it a go – encouraged by friends waiting for their turn and teachers cheering them on.

And that’s part of the magic of putting on a school production. Long before the costumes, lights and applause, there are moments like these: children discovering what they can do when they decide to step forward.

Next stop: casting. We can’t wait. 🎢

Sometimes, the story doesn’t end when the results are released. πŸŽ“

When our Class of 2026 received their IB Diploma results this summer, there was already so much to celebrate: a 100% pass rate, an average score of 35.0 and exceptional individual achievements.

But behind the scenes, our teachers were still working.

They carefully reviewed results, spoke with students and families, and supported those for whom a remark was appropriate. Because every point represents years of hard work β€” and every student deserves to have that work fairly recognised.

Now, with the remark process complete, we are delighted to share our final IBDP results for the Class of 2026.

✨ 35.5 average point score
πŸŽ“ 100% pass rate
🌟 25% of students achieved 40+ points
πŸ† One perfect score of 45
⭐ Three students achieved 44 points
⭐ One student achieved 43 points

These final results are something to celebrate. But so too is the story behind them: students who worked with determination, teachers who continued advocating for them, and a community committed to helping every student achieve their very best.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. Your final results are in β€” and we couldn’t be prouder. πŸ’™

Preparing for the Journey Ahead πŸŽ“βœ¨

β€œWhat do I want to study?”
β€œWhich university is right for me?”
β€œWhere could my future take me?”

For our Year 12 and 13 students, these questions are becoming very real.

At our Sixth Form Centre, Mr Chang, our University and Careers Advisor, is helping students turn questions into possibilities by connecting them directly with universities from around the world. 🌍

Students have already met representatives from universities including HKU, King’s College London, PolyU, CityU and LASALLE, with many more from the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Canada and Spain visiting soon.

Each conversation is a chance to discover a new pathway, ask important questions and begin turning an ambition into a plan.

Because being future-ready isn’t about having every answer today. It’s about having the opportunities and guidance to discover what comes next. πŸ’™

Every teacher has a story. πŸ’™

Before they stepped into their new classrooms at NAIS Hong Kong, our newest teachers had journeys of their own β€” different countries, different experiences, unexpected hobbies and, perhaps, a few hidden talents along the way.

Now, those stories have brought them here.

We asked our new teachers to tell us a little about the person behind the teacher: what inspires them, what they enjoy beyond the classroom, and what they hope students will experience when they walk through their door.

Because great teaching is about so much more than a lesson plan. It’s about the teacher who notices when a student needs encouragement. The one who sparks curiosity, builds confidence and helps young people discover what they’re capable of.

These are the newest people joining that story at NAIS Hong Kong. πŸ’™

πŸŽ₯ Watch the video, get to know them β€” and tell us in the comments: which answer surprised you most?

Summer Concerts 2026 🎼✨

Every musician's journey begins with a single note.

Over time, those notes become melodies, confidence grows, and young performers discover the joy of sharing their music with others 🎢. Our Primary and Secondary Summer Concerts were a wonderful celebration of that journey, showcasing the dedication, progress, and talent of our students across every stage of their musical development.

From first performances to more advanced ensembles, each piece reflected hours of practice, perseverance, and passion. Through our collaboration with The Juilliard School students are encouraged to develop not only technical skills, but also creativity, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of music as a powerful form of expression 🎻🎹.

We are incredibly proud of every performer who took to the stage. Thank you to our music teachers, families, and supporters who help nurture a lifelong love of music within our community πŸ’™πŸŒŸ.

Which performance inspired you most this year? πŸŽ΅πŸ‘‡

IGCSE Results Day 2026 πŸ’™βœ¨

Some moments are years in the making.

The nervous wait. The envelope opened. A quick glance at the page β€” and then the smiles, relieved sighs, celebrations and hugs that say more than any grade ever could.

For our Year 11 and Year 12 students, IGCSE Results Day marked the culmination of a journey shaped by hard work, challenge, determination and growth. Behind every result is a student who kept going, a teacher who encouraged them, and a family who supported them along the way.

Today, we celebrate the grades β€” but also everything it took to reach them. The confidence built, challenges overcome and ambitions that have grown along the way. 🌟

And now, another chapter begins.

Wherever their next steps take them, our students move forward with confidence, ambition and the courage to create their own future.

Congratulations to every one of them. We couldn't be prouder. πŸŽ“βœ¨

A story of growth, ambition and achievement. 🌟

Two years ago, our students began their IGCSE journey. This week, now as Year 12 students, they discovered just how far that journey has taken them.

Behind every achievement is a student who persevered, supported by teachers who knew when to challenge and encourage them, and families who were beside them throughout.

Fiona Thorndike, Head of Secondary, said:

"We are incredibly proud of our students and all they have achieved. These results represent more than two years of hard work, determination and resilience, supported every step of the way by the dedication of our teachers and the unwavering encouragement of our families.

As the Class of 2026 celebrates this important milestone, it also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. For many of our students, that journey continues with us as they step into Sixth Form and our new, purpose-built campus – a place designed to give them greater independence, inspire ambition and prepare them for the opportunities that lie beyond school.

Today, we celebrate not only their results, but the young people they have become and everything they are capable of achieving next.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. We cannot wait to see where your next chapter takes you."

Principal Mr Richardson added:

"These outstanding results give NAIS HK students the strongest possible foundation for the next stage of their journey at our new Sixth Form Centre. Whether they choose A Levels, the IBDP or BTEC in Year 12, they can move forward with confidence and ambition. Their success reflects not only their own hard work and the support of their families, but also the exceptional skill and commitment of our teachers, whose highly personalised approach enables every student to make excellent progress and achieve their very best."

For our Year 12 students, one chapter has closed and another has already begun.

New subjects. New choices. Greater independence. Bigger ambitions.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. Your next chapter is just beginning. πŸŽ‰πŸ“šβœ¨

This week started with the little moments.

A nervous smile at the gate. One last hug before walking through the doors. Friends spotting each other across the playground. Teachers greeting familiar faces β€” and learning some new names.

Then, slowly, the buzz returned.

Across Early Years, Primary and Secondary, classrooms and corridors filled again. And for our Sixth Form students, there was another first: walking through the doors of our new Sixth Form Centre and beginning a new chapter of their own.

Every student arrived this week with a different story. Some excited. Some nervous. Some ready to see their friends. Others finding their place in a brand-new community.

By the end of the week, school already feels like school again.

The bags are unpacked. The conversations have started. New friendships are beginning.

And we have a whole year ahead of us.

Welcome back, NAIS Hong Kong. πŸ’™

πŸ“š Brand New Day.

If there's one thing worth grasping this year, it's knowledge. πŸ“–βœ¨

Every great hero has an origin story, and ours begins with curiosity. It grows through new experiences, broadens horizons, strengthens character, and prepares our students for today's challenges and tomorrow's opportunities.

As our campuses come back to life, we're not just starting a new school year. We're turning the page to a new chapter filled with learning, discovery, and possibility.

And while we're focused on making the most of every moment today, we're also building, with great care and ambition, the future that lies ahead. πŸš€πŸ’™

Welcome back, NAIS Hong Kong. Let's make this a year to remember.
