[VR 世界齊體驗]
虛擬技術（VR）是以電腦模擬的虛擬世界。在這個工作坊裏，你會親自製作一個VR裝置－Google Cardboard。只需要把家長的智能電話放進這VR裝置，就可以進入VR虛擬世界，進行逃離虛擬迷宮比賽。參加者還可以把VR裝置帶回家與親友體驗VR世界！

Cancelling all activities of 2020 STEM Robotics Competition
In view of the latest epidemic development and the relevant school activities arrangement, the organizing committee of 2020 STEM Robotics Competition regretfully decided to cancel all the planned activities, including training workshops and competitions of all divisions.
The organizing committee sincerely thank the support of all participating students, teachers, schools and the sponsors. We are working hard to prepare for the next competition of 2021. Participants of the secondary divisions enrolled in the 2020 competition are advised to keep the Explorer robots for the time being and continue to practice and prepare for the next competition.

Owing to the extension of quarantine period, we are not able to secure the competition venue in July. Thus, the competition committee has decided to postpone the Secondary Division (both Senior and Junior) of STEM Robotic Competition 2020 to September 19, 2020.
We are sorry for the inconvenience that may have caused. Please accept our deepest apology and continue to support this event.
P.S. F.3 Students in 19/20 semester are still eligible for Junior Division even though they will be F.4 students in 20/21 semester.

[Update on STEM Robot Competition 2020]
As hinted in previous announcement, the committee has decided to lend robots to secondary school teams for practicing.
We have sent e-mails to school a little earlier. Once received the e-mail, please follow the instruction to register shipping address and sign on the agreement. We will ship the robots to you from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in mid-April, postage paid.
Please handle the robots carefully. The teams will use them to participate the competition.
You can perform limited modifications to the robots based on instructions here.

我們製作了一系列文章, 教導如何以簡單的編程語言Blockly從無到有製作過三關遊戲, 達致人人對奕。
並運用增強學習(Reinforcement Learning) 給予電腦玩家人工智能，人機對奕，機機對奕。
過程中加強編程技巧和真正認識到機械學習的原理。

整個系列分為三部份.
一. 製作過三關遊戲, 達致人人對奕。
二. 賦予人定義人工智能法則, 達致人機對奕和機機對奕。
三. 運用增強學習, 給予人工智能。

每部份分為若干篇文章, 每篇文章跟著做大概需要30-60分鐘, 不過要睇英文啊!

由於新型冠狀病毒肺炎疫情的影響，2020年度全港中小學生 STEM 機械人大賽原定的比賽以及賽前工作坊日期被迫延遲。大賽的主辦單位在此感謝所有參賽學校負責老師和同學的理解及支持。

基於教育局關於中小學復課的最新安排，STEM 機械人大賽各組別比賽日期暫定延至7月中旬，賽前學習及訓練活動按各組具體情況作出調整，包括網上講解和在家自學。

此外，原定今年7月底舉辦的矽谷科技探索之旅將會取消。本屆比賽初中組和高中組優勝隊伍將獲邀請和資助，參加明年7月的矽谷科技探索之旅。

In consideration of the development of the novel coronavirus epidemic, the activities of 2020 STEM Robotics Competition have been subject to repeated postponement in the past few weeks. The organizers of the competition hereby express our sincerest gratitude to the understanding and support from the participating schools.

In accordance with the EDB’s latest announcement regarding class resumption arrangement for primary and secondary schools, the STEM Robotics Competitions are now postponed to the middle of July. The pre-competition learning activities will be re-scheduled accordingly and carried out, if appropriate, in the form of online lectures/tutorials and self-study.

The Silicon Valley Technology Exploring Tour in July 2020 will be cancelled. However, the winning teams of the junior secondary and senior secondary divisions in this year’s competitions will be invited and sponsored to join the similar tour activity in the summer of 2021.

中學組比賽將會於4月25日舉行, 工作坊日期則改為3月28-29日.
小學組比賽將會延期至7月上旬, 具體日期將另行公佈.

STEM Robotic Competition 2020 is postponed according to EDB annoucement dated 13th February.
The new competition date of secondary divisions is 25th April, 2020.

[科技之旅2020行程介紹, JPL-NASA]
今年我們得到煤氣公司加碼資助, 把行程由北加州矽谷擴展至南加州.
我們將會到達大洛杉磯的帕薩廸那市(Pasadena).是劉Sir以前工作的地方啊,很令人懷念呢!

Pasadena有名的東西很多, 有一年一度的玫瑰巡遊(Rose Parade), 美式足球NFL決賽Super Bowl地點玫瑰碗(Rose Bowl), 愛因斯坦(Albert Einstein)和費曼(Richard Feynman)任教的加州理工(Caltech),亦是電視連續劇Big Bang Theory取材之地,更有我們將會參觀的JPL.

Jet Propulsion Laboratory 是能源部轄下太空總署(NASA)最重要研發實驗室之一,由加州理工負責管理.
由探索者一號(Explorer1)到火星陸行車好奇號(Curiosity)都是在這裡設計的呢.

[Latest News about STEM Robotic Competition 2020]
Due to the situation of novel corona virus crisis, the competition is postponed as follows:
Senior Secondary Division: Competition: April 12 (Sunday), Workshop: March 7-8
Junior Secondary Division: Competition: April 12 (Sunday), Workshop: March 7-8
Primary Division: Competition: April 25 (Saturday), Workshop: March 14-15, Practice: March 28-29

We are about to send out admission e-mails to school teams starting on February 3.
Please acknowledge the date changes by replying the e-mail.

Since the dates are changed, we extend the registration date to February 17 to cater for the cases of dropouts.

初中組比賽規則與往年大致一樣，每隊兩台作賽，由参賽者通過螢幕以機械車第一身控制比賽。雖然沒有高中組的自動化編程，但激烈程度有過之而無不及。可是只有兩顆按鈕，怎樣能靈活控制呢？有什麼編程技巧呢？
今年更放寬硬件設計，隊伍可自己設計3D打印前防撞桿，令戰車更強悍。

[Sample Code and Demo of Junior Divison]
The rules and regulations are similar to that of the last year. Each team operates two Explorers to battle it out. They can only observe the battle field through Explorers’ cameras. While the robots do not run automatically, the battle is more fierce. But with only two buttons, how to control the Explorer effectively? What coding tricks are there?
This year, each team can strengthen their Explorers by designing their own front bumper.
