The Department of Management successfully held its annual Teaching Retreat on 19 May 2026! 🌟

As business management constantly evolves, continuous improvement is key. Faculty members spent the full-day event reviewing and revamping the structures of our BBA Management and postgraduate programs (MSc Management of Innovation and MA Global Business Management). The goal? To embed the University's core 3Is—Innovation, Interdisciplinarity, and Impact—directly into our teaching while aligning with current industry and technological trends.

We were also delighted to welcome colleagues from the Talent and Education Development Office (TED). They shared fantastic, innovative practices focused on digital learning, team-based learning, and AI-enabled instruction and policies. 🖥️🤖

What's next? Over the coming year, we will be establishing strategic timelines and committees to bring these changes to life, ensuring our commitment to educational excellence remains stronger than ever.

MGT6800 Entrepreneurial Project Closing Ceremony

Last Thursday, the Department of Management proudly marked the conclusion of the MGT6800 Entrepreneurial Project course with a closing ceremony that brought together students, faculty, and partner organizations from the Hong Kong Science Park and the Greater Bay Area.

As a flagship experiential learning course of the MSc Management and Innovation programme, MGT6800 empowers students to apply management and innovation theories to real-world challenges. Collaborating with forward-thinking companies from the Hong Kong Science Park and the Greater Bay Area, students developed entrepreneurial solutions that bridged academia and industry. This hands-on journey not only strengthened problem-solving and teamwork skills but also showcased the value of industry-connected learning.

A heartfelt thank you to our partner companies, students, and faculty for making this milestone inspiring and impactful.

We had the honour of inviting Ms. Irina Fan, newly appointed Government Economist, to host a seminar on “Hong Kong’s Role as a Global and Asia Pacific Super Connector” for the Department of Management’s course MGT4312 — Launching Business in Asia Pacific on 2 April 2026.
Ms. Fan shared her insights on Hong Kong’s dual role as a gateway to Mainland China and an international hub, its strengths in finance and professional services, and its evolving position in the Greater Bay Area and APAC innovation ecosystems.
Her seminar inspired students to view Hong Kong as a platform for collaboration, resilience, and global opportunity.
