Orff Pedagogy �
The aim of fine music-teaching is student mastery of skills and concepts. Orff teachers believe that these are best taught inductively by means of a four-stage learning process: imitation, exploration, literacy and improvisation.
This means that all students are given many opportunities to experiment with a wide range of musical problems.
From this encounters students can develop the skills and concepts that promote independent musicianship.
(iii) Overlapping Imitation
An introduction to overlapping imitation for young children is provided by the ‘change at the magic word’ game.
To begin this activities, you may establish a movement gesture which is imitated only after you’ve said the magic word.
Children love to assume your leadership role after they are familiar with the game.

導師會給予所有學童林林總總的機會,從多方面思考和實驗怎解決各式各樣的音樂問題。透過這學習過程,學生能以音樂技巧和概念,從而發展出獨立的音樂才能。
(iii)交疊模仿
讓幼童Change at the magic word遊戲中引進重覆模仿。
由導師開始一個動作,讓學童模仿。當繼續遊戲並引入新的動作,學童只能在聽到Magic word後模仿。
孩童在熟悉遊戲後更懂得認定領袖的角色。

Music Elite Club presenting:
It will be post on every Tuesday. We would like to share about the musical development at early-age, also the impact of children behaviour.
【Week 4】
For aged up to six months baby’s parents🤰,you can help things along by:
- Sing, talk and chat to your baby- use the songs your parents may have used, ask friends for ideas or use recording to help you along.
- Choose one or two songs you can sing as a lullaby ( it doesn’t have to be a children’s song)
- Once you’ve found a selection you like use them over and over, as your baby will love hearing them for life!
- Hum or sing on vowel sounds ( oo or ah ) to signal sleep time after a few repetitions of the word of your lullaby.
- You may need to vary the songs you use as your baby grows older and starts to resist cues for bedtime.
- Move with your baby by rocking, patting and dancing to recording, radio, television and your own singing( always supporting the baby’s head)

上週我們提及過6-12個月寶寶的發展情況,是次我們將會分享有關甚麼的音樂相關活動,能夠他們的成長發展。
【第四週】
出生到六個月期間寶寶的家長,🤰可以透過以下的活動幫助小朋友成長:
- 向你的寶寶唱歌,說話和聊天 -你可以使用你父母曾使用的歌曲,參考朋友的意見或者使用錄音聲帶亦可以。
- 選取一至兩首歌曲作為搖籃曲使用( 歌曲不一定需要是兒歌 )。
- 當你找到你喜歡的歌曲,你可以一遍又一遍的使用它們。你的寶寶會終生都喜歡聽到這些歌曲。
- 你可以在重複數次搖籃曲後,啍唱一些元音( oo 或 ah等) 作為睡眠時間的信號。
- 你可能需要隨著寶寶的年紀增長,而改變歌單並開始減少使用睡眠信號。
- 隨著收音機,電視或自己錄製的歌聲,與寶寶一起搖晃,拍攝打或跳舞。( 緊記要由始至終牢固寶寶的頭部 )

Week 3 Orff
Orff Pedagogy �

Imitation
(ii) Remembered Imitation (Echo)
Asking children to remember a cue for later performance is a procedure used by most music teachers.
This indispensable learning device is called remembered (imitation) or echo imitation.
In echo work the children repeat a gesture, a sound, a rhythm pattern, or a melodic motive exactly as give by the teacher.
This is a crucial activity for building tonal and rhythmic memory at evert stage of the child’s musical development.
Remembered imitation activities assume special importance as preliminary steps to improvisation and as introductory and evaluation steps in an activity.

(ii)記憶模仿/回應模仿
其中一個很多音樂導師會慣常使用的步驟,是要求學童為接下來的演奏記住一個信號。
(按著信號的發出,)孩童做出一個與導師指示一致的動作、聲音、節奏、旋律動機。
對於孩子而言,這是在音樂的階段成長中建立調性記憶及節奏記憶的重要過程。
回應模仿被視為即興創作的重要起點,並在活動中起拋磚引玉或評價等舉足輕重之效。

【Week 3】
The baby aged up to six months may:
- Turn his/ her head toward the direction of a sound and hear all the sounds an adult does, preferring the human voice.
- Respond in particular to the voices of the main caregivers and may move in response to music.
- Produce a range of sounds from cooing, gurgling and squealing through to crying and will learn to change the sound by altering the mouth shape.
- Imitate the carer’s mouth and sounds at around three months, and engage in turn-taking babble by six months.
- Often accompany sound making with movements such as waving fists or kicking legs.

【第三週】
寶寶從出生到六個月期間可以:
- 將自己的頭轉向聲音的方向,並聽到成年人所發出的所有聲音。相比其他聲音會比較喜歡人聲。
- 對主要照顧者的說話有比較明顯的反應,也有可能對音樂作出回應。
- 從咕咕聲,咕嚕聲,尖叫聲到哭聲,發出一系列的聲音,並學會通過改變嘴巴形狀來發出不同聲音。
- 從三個月左右,開始模仿照顧者的嘴巴和聲音。並在六個月左右開始喃喃學語的嘗試說話。
- 經常透過揮動拳頭或踢腳等動作來製造聲音。

Imitation
(i) Simultaneous Imitation
Some of the processes we use to build skills and concepts in the introductory stages are very similar to those used in traditional teaching methods.
Imitation activities, for instance, are a favourite means of helping students of all ages and abilities to develop and build aural skills.
Simultaneous imitation is one such device. It occurs when the imitated response happens at virtually the same time as the cue. A typical example is the kind of spontaneous follow-the-leader opportunity found in the ‘Simon says’ game.
This same spontaneous imitation idea is used in movement activities, in body-percussion, sound imitation and in instrumental responses to body percussion gestures.

自然模仿的概念可用於姿態動作、身體敲擊、聲音模仿以及身體對敲擊樂器的回應。

We have been go through the musical development of baby in womb last week. The following is about how musical activities can involved at this age.
【Week 2】
For parents during pregnancy🤰,you can help things along by:
- Singing and talking to the baby.🎙
- Rocking, swaying or dancing gently to the beat.💃💃
- Assembling a tape of your favorite soothing music to listen in pregnancy. 🎧🎧
(As babies remember the sounds heard in the last three months of pregnancy,
playing music after birth may help to settle your baby)👩👦👩👧
- Using this time to learn some lullabies song and rhymes.
- Avoiding exposure to extremely loud sounds.🔊🔊

Music Elite Club uses Orff Schulwerk on our program. Yet, what makes Orff special distinctively?🤔🤔
The Orff approach combines:
- the love 💗of sound📣, love 💗of music-making🎼, and the need to be appreciated in such a way that children can participate in their own musical education and personal growth. 👣
- Not only are their minds 🧠and imaginations 💭stimulated but they are also urged to feel and to five musical🎶 expression to that feeling.
- The ultimate aim of Orff’s approach to music is the enrichment of students’ lives through the development of their inherent musicality. That goal 🎖️is hardly unique to Orff, in face many other methods claim the same intent.
However, what makes Orff’s approach special is the way it develops the idea that the child learns musical behaviour through behaving in musical ways: by creating, listening and performing.
To “Create”🎼🎼
-As Orff orginally developed his perspective in the 1920s, creating was of central importance.
- Teaching consisted of presenting musical problems with students expected to improvise their own solutions🤗.
- The end result was a musically independent student.
To “Listen”👂👂
- Listening was also of prime importance because all music in an Orff program was created by groups. 👬👭
- In order to contribute, students had to listen to the sounds of each others💁♂️💁♀️.
- Skill at self-evaluation would also be impossible without this ability as would the talent to understand music one lacked the technical facility to perform.
To “Perform"👂👂
- The last fundamental premise of Orff’s conception made much of performance.
- All students were to perform all the time, be it singing🎤, moving💃, speaking💬 or playing🎺🎷.
- So important was participation that Orff designed or adapted instruments 🥁that facilitated student contributions, whatever their level of ability.

Music Elite Club 沿用奧福教學法教導幼童,但為何奧福教學法如此特別?🤔🤔
奧福教學法包含了:
- 對聲音📣的熱愛💗、對音樂創作🎼的熱情💗、以及對孩童能夠參與自身音樂教學與個人成長 👣的需要。
- 不僅啓發思維🧠及想像力💭,更促使孩童五觀感受並作出音樂上🎶的回應。
- 奧福教學法並非標奇立異,其他教學法也提倡同樣的目標:是透過開發學童與生俱來的音樂天賦以致充實他們的生活。
奧福教學法別樹一幟之處在於以音樂為本的行為模式培養音樂涵養: 「創作」、「聆聽」、「演奏」。
「創作」🎼🎼
- 在1920年代卡爾·奧福發起的理念中「創作」尤為重要。
- 教學過程中提出各樣的音樂問題,並期待學童即興創造出屬於他們的答案🤗。
- 目的是讓學員能在音樂上獨當一面。
「聆聽」👂👂
- 同樣是不可或缺的一環,因為在奧福教學中的所有音樂都是以組群👬👭為創作單位。
- 若要參與其中,學童需聆聽💁♂️💁♀️彼此表現的聲音。
- 從理解音樂的資質到運用技巧地演奏中,若缺乏聆聽,自我反思的能力同樣地是難以養成。
「演奏」
- 是奧福概念的基礎和著眼點。無論是歌唱🎤、舞蹈💃、說話💬、彈奏🎺🎷,所有學員無時無刻在演奏。
- 關鍵在於參與性,而奧福在設計或使用樂器🥁上促進不同程度的學員參與。

【Week 1】
During pregnancy🤰🤰 the developing baby 👶👶can:
-Hear loud sounds at 3-4 months gestation (when the ear 👂👂is formed)
-May memories your voice from 6 months and listen to all the mother’s bodily functions
-Hear high-pitched sound, most accurately from 6 months gestation
-Find different types of music either calming 🎶or stimulation🎸
-Tend to move away from over-loud🔊🔊, raucous📢📢 music
-Recognize monther’s voice🤱 at birth as well as music🎵🎵 played in the last three months of pregnancy
On upcoming week, We will share what music-related activities mother could do to support the development of infant in womb.
