【AUTM Training Courses in Hong Kong 2026 - Day 2: License Negotiations】

We wrapped up the AUTM Training Course at City University of Hong Kong on August 11, 2026, with an incredible final session led by our distinguished US instructors, Dr. Mike Moore (Director of Technology Transfer, Office of Innovation Commercialization, Augusta University) and Mr. Alan Bentley (Assistant Vice Chancellor for Technology Transfer & IP Development, Vanderbilt University). We extend our deepest gratitude to both of them for guiding our attendees through a masterclass in deal-making.

Building on yesterday's foundation on technology marketing, Day 2 focused entirely on the art and strategy of License Negotiations. Participants actively engaged in hands-on exercises to master key licensing and negotiation skills using real-world scenarios, practicing how to structure term sheets, navigate complex contract clauses, bridge deadlocks, and align academic values with commercial objectives.

What an impactful two days of learning, networking, and skill-building! Thank you to our instructors and all participants from many universities, research centers and start-ups who made this program such a resounding success with great enjoyment.

【AUTM Training Courses in Hong Kong 2026 - Day 1: Technology Marketing】
We express our sincere appreciation to our US instructors Dr. Mike Moore, Director of Technology Transfer, Office of Innovation Commercialization at Augusta University, and Mr. Alan Bentley, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Technology Transfer & Intellectual Property Development at Vanderbilt University, alongside guest speaker Dr. Dawna Kwan, Senior Patent Examiner at the IP Department of HKSAR Government. We thank them for generously sharing their invaluable knowledge and expertise with participants during Day 1 of the AUTM Training Course held at City University of Hong Kong on August 10, 2026.

Participants had the opportunity to gain deep insights from industry leaders on techniques for effectively marketing early-stage technologies. Key sessions covered effective brand messaging, defining target audiences, leveraging generative AI tools in marketing, and utilizing storytelling, events, and social media strategies to attract potential local and global partners. Dr. Kwan updated participants on the latest developments in Hong Kong’s patent system.

Many participants are already looking forward to Day 2! Stay tuned as we continue the journey tomorrow with the licensing negotiations course.
