From tackling global topics across Business, Arts, Communication, Chinese Medicine, and more, to stepping out into the city, our students embraced every moment. Highlights included a day of wonder at Hong Kong Disneyland๐ŸŽข, a heritage journey through Macao ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ด, and a sun-splashed escape to Sai Kung ๐ŸŒŠ. From engaging classes and lively campus activities to cultural immersion across the city and beyond, students discovered new perspectives, forged friendships, and made memories to last a lifetime ๐Ÿ’.

A heartfelt thank-you to our students for making this summer unforgettable. Carry the memories and friendships with you โ€” and HKBU will always be your home away from home๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป.

A defining moment of the programme took place at the Ban Ki-moon Peace Museum and Peace Park in Eumseong County, where our students explored what it means to be global changemakers.
The experience was made even more inspiring by a special message from Mr Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations. Reflecting on his years of international service, he challenged students to embrace the responsibilities of global citizenship and to play an active role in building a more peaceful, sustainable and prosperous world.
His powerful reminder resonated deeply: โ€œWe only have one Earth, so our ability to sustain it and peacefully coexist on it will be one of the greatest challenges that young people like you will face in your lives and future careers.โ€
Building on this inspiration, students participated in climate workshop and simulation exercise and exchange with distinguished leaders from the Ban Ki-moon Foundation, including former diplomats and senior government officials. Through these experiences, they gained valuable insights into diplomacy, global governance and the collaborative leadership needed to address complex international challenges.
An unforgettable day of learning, leadership and global citizenship. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒ

๐ŸŒโœจ HKBU Students Take Seoul: Innovation, Culture & Sustainability โœจ๐ŸŒฟ

From 21โ€“27 June 2026, a group of students from HKBUโ€™s Extended Study Programme, guided by the International Office and Professor PARK Keonyoung, embarked on a weekโ€‘long odyssey through South Korea โ€” where academia met adventure and global engagement came alive.

๐ŸŒ The pinnacle of the trip unfolded at the Ban Kiโ€‘moon Peace Museum & Park. Students were profoundly moved by Mr. BAN Kiโ€‘moonโ€™s inspiring speech and honored to be formally received by Mr. PAK Yilโ€‘ho, Head of Administration, and Mr. LEE Byungโ€‘yong, Head of Planning and Policy. This defining moment underscored their responsibilities as global changemakers, reinforced through immersive climate workshops and simulations.

๐Ÿ“š At Ewha Womans University, they plunged into the world of sustainability, exploring CSR and UN SDGs before transforming insights into bold, creative shortโ€‘form storytelling.

๐Ÿค– At the Samsung Innovation Museum, they stepped into the future to experience AI, smart ecosystems, and mobile technologies that are redefining human connection.

๐Ÿ’ผ Encounters with Chinese entrepreneurs, alongside visits to China Southern Airlines & Yunda Express, unlocked fresh perspectives on global entrepreneurship and integration.

๐ŸŽค From citizenโ€‘driven innovation at the Hope Institute to the dazzling influence of Kโ€‘pop and Korean TV, including SM Universe and Arirang TV, students experienced Koreaโ€™s soft power radiating worldwide. Professor HAN Oul of Sogang University capped the journey with a thoughtโ€‘provoking dinner lecture, tying it all together.

๐Ÿฏ Strolling through Bukchon Hanok Village & Gyeongbokgung Palace, students witnessed how heritage and modernity elegantly intertwine through sustainable urban preservation.

This was far more than a study trip. It was a journey of vision, voice, and purpose. Students returned inspired to shape a more sustainable, connected, and collaborative future. ๐ŸŒŸ

Bonjour from Paris! ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ทโœˆ๏ธ HKBU is proud to be part of the Hong Kong higher education delegation at the inaugural Franceโ€“Hong Kong University Presidentsโ€™ Forum in Paris from 21 to 22 May, engaging with more than 50 presidents and vice-presidents from French institutions.

Co-organised by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau, France Universitรฉs, the University Grants Committee (UGC), and HUCOM Standing Committee on Internationalisation, this landmark forum marks a major milestone in deepening academic ties between Hong Kong and France. It sets the stage for collaborations across multiple formats, from student exchanges and innovative academic education to high-impact international research. A key highlight was the signing of a Letter of Intent with France Universitรฉs, paving the way for a strong, long-term structure for student/faculty mobility and strategic collaborations to further elevate the โ€œStudy in Hong Kongโ€ brand. ๐Ÿคโœจ

For HKBU, this forum builds upon a longstanding partnership with French institutions, rooted in the launch of our European Studies Programme in 1994. Today, our global network proudly includes 35 French exchange partners, supporting 130 exchange students annually, alongside 7 double/combined degree programmes with French institutions. The HKBU delegation also had the pleasure of visiting Sciences Po Paris, a cherished, long-term exchange partner of HKBU for 28 years. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

During panel discussions at the forum, academic leaders from both regions explored combining our expertise to address global challenges, exchanging dialogues on the frontiers of AI Driven Innovation, sustainable finance, clinical research and commercialisation. Our President and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Alexander Ping-kong Wai, joined a distinguished panel on "AI Driven Innovationโ€, shared how HKBU keeps the human dimension at the centre of technological leaps, highlighting our transdisciplinary education nurturing future-shaping graduates and Art-Tech academic and research developments. Prof. Wai emphasised that while professional skills and AI competencies are important, the most future-shaping leaders will be those who possess distinctly human capabilities like critical thinking, resilience, and ethical judgement.

The strategic momentum continued as the delegation visited Franceโ€™s most prestigious national research bodies, including the French Academy of Sciences, National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) and National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). These high-level institutional visits unlocked concrete pathways to explore France-Hong Kong research collaboration and advance the translation of impactful research outcomes into real-world solutions.

We look forward to deepening our collaboration with French counterparts, driving impactful research and co-creating a human-centred future together.๐ŸŒŸ
