🎓 A new chapter begins! Last weekend, we were thrilled to officially welcome our talented MBA Class of 2025 at annual orientation.

Over this immersive two-day event, we moved from campus briefings to workshops at the Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong, where students leveled up their skills in personal branding, presentations, and networking.

The highlight of the event was our welcome dinner on Day 1, where our Dean of the College of Business, Prof. Stephen Shum, and the MBA Programme Director, Prof. Kevin Sun, outlined the vision for the year ahead. The CityUHK MBA will adopt a STEM-focused approach to nurture future business leaders, equipping them with both technical expertise and people skills to thrive in the digital economy and address complex business challenges.

The orientation concluded on a high note with the Mentorship Pairing Session, a cornerstone of the MBA experience that allowed students to connect one-on-one with industry professionals in their fields of interest. The conversations were insightful and forward-looking, with many groups continuing their discussions long after the formal session ended—a true testament to the immediate synergy and value created.

Our MBA students recently participated in the Global Brand Management Workshop at Imperial College London, where they engaged in a unique opportunity to explore brand equity and cutting-edge strategies for building powerful brands in the digital age.

As strategic consultants for the Natural History Museum, students tackled real-world global branding challenges, collaborating with marketing experts to develop innovative strategies. This hands-on experience not only honed their skills in brand management but also fostered creativity and collaboration. Through interactive lectures and seminars, they delved into essential topics like the convergence of branding, data, and technology, as well as the role of AI in marketing.

Over 40 CityUHK MBA students embarked on an unforgettable journey to UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business for the International Entrepreneurship and Venture Plan Development programme on 7 July, 2025. Nestled in the heart of Silicon Valley, this intensive experience equipped us with the tools to build startups, navigate venture capital, and drive innovation in the world’s most dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem.

We explored cutting-edge startups, engaged with VC practitioners, and gained insights into global business strategies—expanding our network within Silicon Valley’s innovation hub.

🎤 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵:
The programme culminated in a pitch presentation, where our teams presented business plans to faculty and seasoned entrepreneurs, refining our storytelling and pitching skills—critical for securing funding and launching successful ventures.

Organised by Joy in Art and fully supported by CityUHK MBA, the event was a resounding success, uniting individuals from all walks of life to support the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation.

Participants immersed themselves in three unique artistic experiences:

The room buzzed with laughter, connection and purpose as each artwork told a unique story of resilience. "Art doesn't just create beauty – it heals and unites."

🌷Most importantly, every brushstroke contributed to a greater cause – all funds raised will directly support breast cancer patients and awareness initiatives.
