Last read before the semester starts!

In our latest book recommendation, Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata, you’ll dive into a stunning Nobel Prize-winning classic that explores the haunting beauty of transience. ❄️

A man catches a snowbound train into the Japanese mountains to reconnect with a geisha he thinks he loves. She remains trapped within the strict traditions of rural geisha life, defined by servitude and isolation. Snow Country is an exquisite and subtle meditation on love and its limits. 🤍

Are you ready to immerse yourself in a moody and atmospheric world before the new semester begins? ✨

Spooky season for summer is coming... and we’re checking into the Overlook Hotel! 🏨 While the weather outside is hot, things are getting dangerously cold in our latest Summerween book recommendation: Stephen King’s 1977 classic, The Shining. 📕

The Shining is a 1977 horror novel. It centres on Jack Torrance, a struggling writer and recovering alcoholic who accepts a position as the off-season caretaker of the historic Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies. His family accompanies him on this job, including his young son, Danny, who possesses "the shining", allowing the child to glimpse the hotel's horrific true nature. Soon, the supernatural forces inhabiting the hotel influence Jack's sanity, leaving his wife Wendy and son in grave danger. 👻
