Global Connections – Ross School of Business Student Mixer Lunch 2026
On May 14, 2026, the School of Business and Management (SBM) once again had the pleasure of hosting a vibrant Global Connections Student Mixer Lunch from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Building on the success of last year’s gathering, this year’s event welcomed over 60 participants, from both Ross and SBM, creating an even broader platform for cross-cultural exchange between Ross and SBM students.
The afternoon began at the Karen Lee Mentoring Center, where Ross students were warmly greeted by SBM and UG students. The program continued with a lively buffet lunch at the Conference Lodge, offering a relaxed environment for students to share experiences, discuss academic insights, and explore future aspirations. To commemorate their study trip in Hong Kong, group photos were taken to capture the energy of the day and students exchanged contacts to stay in touch beyond the event.
This mixer exemplifies SBM’s commitment to fostering global education and collaboration, providing students with opportunities to expand their horizons and network outside the classroom. SBM continues to showcase Hong Kong as a hub for international learning and to strengthen ties among future business leaders worldwide.

2026 Spring Exchange Buddy Activity - Martial Arts Experience and Exploring HK Culture
On March 7, 2026, SBM exchange and local students set out on a cultural journey against the scenic backdrop of Tai Mo Shan, Hong Kong’s tallest mountain. The mid-semester buddy activity began with lunch at Duen Kee Tea House, situated at the base of the mountain. Students enjoyed a variety of classic Cantonese dim sum dishes, fresh mountain grown watercress, Hakka chewy cakes, and traditional tofu pudding, experiencing the legacy of one of Hong Kong’s most storied tea houses.
The group then explored Chuen Lung Village, where they visited the centuries-old Tsang Ancestral Hall, and Koon Man Space, formerly a village school with over 100 years of history and now a community-oriented photography exhibition. They also passed by the Chuen Lung Watercress Field, where the locally grown watercress they had tasted at lunch is cultivated. These sites offered a vivid glimpse into Hong Kong’s rural heritage and living traditions.
The highlight of the afternoon was a Tai Chi workshop back at Duen Kee, where students were guided through the fundamentals of this ancient martial art by a team of Tai Chi masters. The session emphasized forms, balance, and mindfulness, giving students a rare chance to connect with Chinese martial arts in an authentic setting. The day concluded with a shuttle to Prince Edward station, leaving students with lasting memories of shared heritage, cultural appreciation, and new friendships.

On Saturday, 7 February 2026, nearly 100 inbound and outbound SBM UG exchange students spent an enriching afternoon at Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District.
The visit began at the Xiqu Centre, where students enjoyed the Tea House Theatre’s Cantonese opera alongside traditional tea and dim sum. The group then headed to the Hong Kong Palace Museum to explore its exhibition including a major special exhibition, Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums.
The exhibition features 250 artifacts from seven Egyptian museums and the Saqqara archaeological site, including statues, stelae, gold ornaments, mummy coffins, and animal mummies, many displayed in Hong Kong for the first time.
A big thank you to WKCD for hosting our students. Stay tuned for more SBM Exchange activities this semester!

SBM successfully welcomed close to 200 exchange-in students for the Spring semester! The kick-off activity was held on January 31, 2026 (Saturday). Despite the rainy weather, spirits remained high from HKUST to Stanley and the Peak. In total, more than 300 local and international students joined this exciting event and explored different Hong Kong sceneries.
The day began at HKUST followed by visit to Stanley Market, where students enjoyed shopping and lunch together. Afterwards, the coach brought everyone to the Peak for a panoramic view of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the surrounding islands with the misty skies adding a unique charm to the experience.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all the students who attended the event, and we hope lasting friendships will continue to blossom throughout the semester!
