👩🏻‍🍳 Parent-Child Kitchen: Creative Bento Making Workshop 🍱

Our school recently hosted a "Parent-Child Kitchen" event, providing a relaxing space for students and their parents to bond through the art of making creative bento boxes and fruit tarts. 😋
Throughout the workshop, families worked hand-in-hand, brainstorming designs and sharing tasks. It was heartwarming to see the creativity shine through as they turned their family members into adorable rice ball characters. More than just cooking, it was a wonderful opportunity for communication and creating precious, lasting memories.🥰

「翰墨牽兩岸，丹青繪同心」---北京姊妹學校到訪

北京市懷柔區第五小學的41位師生於6月11日到訪本校。兩地學生在藝術創作及學術範疇兩方面進行互動交流。學生們一同繪製扇面與京劇臉譜，並編織傳統中國繩結。福德學校師生更帶領北京同學體驗特別的音樂課---學習廣東話「數白欖」融入傳統說唱藝術。而外籍英語老師教授的英語課堂及本校的演藝教育課堂，不但讓北京的同學感受互動英語課堂的樂趣，更親身體驗本校多元的演藝課課程，包括豎琴、滑板、街舞、功夫、獅藝、小結他等。北京同學們均表示十分享受本校的課堂。

A Visit from Our Beijing Sister School

On June 11th, 41 teachers and students from a primary school in Huairou District, Beijing, visited our school. Students from both schools took part in different interactive activities. They painted traditional Chinese fans and opera masks and made Chinese knots together. During the school visit, the Beijing students learned Cantonese ‘Shu Bai Lan’ (traditional rhythmic chanting). They also enjoyed an English lesson taught by our Native-speaking English Teacher (NET) and our specialized performing arts lessons, including playing the harp, skateboarding, hip-hop dance, kung fu, lion dance and the ukulele. Students from Beijing all shared that they thoroughly enjoyed our school's lessons. What a wonderful and memorable day!

吳冠中被公認為20世紀最具影響力的藝術家之一，他曾於世界各地寫生，足跡遍及亞、非、歐、美四大洲二十多個國家。吳冠中有不少畫作都從香港取景、於香港作畫，因為他認為香港中西匯聚，正與他畢生追求的藝術之道相互共鳴。

「藝術之旅——吳冠中流動藝術館」教育專車，將於2026年6月22日(星期一)上午來到福德學校，車上設有多媒體裝置和互動遊戲，讓同學認識吳冠中的藝術和美學理念。藝術車停泊在校園至下午1:00，歡迎學生與家長在放學後一同參觀。惟藝術車的空間有限，如人數過多，參與者須耐心輪候。

Wu Guanzhong is widely recognised as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. He traveled around the world to draw on location, with his footprints reaching more than 20 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

Many of Wu’s artworks were inspired by scenes from Hong Kong, and he even painted in Hong Kong, because he believed that Chinese and Western cultures converge there—something that resonates with the artistic path he pursued throughout his life.

The “Art Journey with Wu Guanzhong: Mobile Museum” will visit Bishop Memorial School on 22nd June, 2026. The art journey features an art bus equipped with multimedia devices and interactive games, enabling students to learn about Wu Guanzhong’s art and aesthetic taste. The art bus will be parked on campus until 1:00 p.m. Parents are welcome to visit the bus with students after school. However, the space on the bus is limited. If there are too many participants, everyone will need to queue patiently and take turns.

Yesterday, our Rope Skipping Team participated in a competition, hosted by Hong Kong Rope Skipping Club. Eight students were divided into two teams and secured excellent results.

Through diligent practice during recess and after school, they successfully enhanced their speed and performance. We encourage everyone to continue supporting the Rope Skipping Team. 🔥

參觀教區成立80周年 「希望的傳傳承者」— 教區歷史展覽

為回應今年天主教教區成立80年，我校的基督小先鋒、兒童慕道團及教友學生，於5月15日下午一同前往聖方濟各大學，參觀教區的歷史展覽。

導賞員很用心告訴我們歷代教區的樞機和主教的資料。珍貴的照片、文物、口述歷史及多媒體的展示，呈現了教區的發展脈絡、信仰傳承及對社會的服務，讓同學們深入理解天主教教會在香港社會、文化與靈性層面的影響。

同學們都用心聆聽，當導賞員提問時，他們都積極回應。最後，同學們紛紛各自寫上今次參觀教區歷史展覽的感受，以作回饋。

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Catholic Diocese, our school’s Pioneers of Christ, Children’s Catechumenate, and Catholic students visited the Diocese’s historical exhibition at St. Francis University on the afternoon of May 15.

The docent thoughtfully introduced us to information about the Cardinals and Bishops throughout the Diocese’s history. Precious photographs, artifacts, oral histories, and multimedia displays illustrated the development of the Diocese, the transmission of faith, and its service to society. This helped the students gain a deeper understanding of the Catholic Church’s influence on Hong Kong’s social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions.

The students listened attentively and responded actively when the docent asked questions. At the end, each student wrote down their reflections on the visit to the Diocese’s historical exhibition as feedback.

昨日，校園順利舉行「普通話日」，同學透過有趣的活動複習拼音知識。一眾普通話大使悉心指導同學朗讀技巧、鞏固拼音基礎。全校同學投入參與，勇於嘗試，校園內洋溢着濃厚的普通話學習氛圍。

Yesterday’s Putonghua Day was a great success. Students reviewed Pinyin through fun activities, guided by Putonghua Ambassadors who shared tips on reading and pronunciation. With everyone participating enthusiastically, the campus was filled with a vibrant Putonghua-learning atmosphere.

聖母月啟動禮

5月份是聖母月，本校於5月8日(星期五) 舉行聖母月啟動禮，全體師生以歌聲伴隨著聖母像花車進入禮堂，我們以玫瑰經祈求聖母媽媽為世界和平代禱及請她轉求天主降福我們學校在一切事工上順利、平安、喜樂。讓我們學習聖母關愛身邊的人，特別是那些需要我們憐憫的人。最後由衞智立校長帶領各班代表向聖母像獻上玫瑰花。🌹

On May 8 (Friday), our school held the Opening Ceremony for the month of Hail Mary. Accompanied by songs, the statue of Our Lady was carried on a flower-decorated car into the hall. Together, we prayed the Rosary, asking our Mother Mary to intercede for world peace and to implore God’s blessings upon our school, so that all our undertakings may be smooth, safe, and joyful. Let us learn from Hail Mary’s example of caring for those around us, especially those in need of our compassion. Finally, Principal Wai led class representatives to offer roses to the statue of Our Lady. 🌹
