We were delighted to welcome students from STFA Lee Shau Kee College to our AF Experience Day! During the event, students were introduced to the PolyU BBA (Hons) Scheme in Accounting and Finance (JS3060), gaining insights into its curriculum, distinctive features, and future study opportunities. They also heard from an AF student, who shared personal experiences of university life, learning opportunities, and exchange experiences, offering valuable perspectives on studying at PolyU. 📚✨

The School of Accounting and Finance (AF) is delighted to announce that a research project led by Prof. Feng TIAN, Associate Professor of AF, has received funding under the Research Grants Council (RGC) Theme-based Research Scheme (TRS) 2026/27. The project, titled “Managing AI Risk for Businesses in Hong Kong”, has been awarded approximately HK$10.84 million and is among the highly competitive projects selected to address issues of strategic importance to Hong Kong’s long-term development.

As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into business operations, the project aims to develop a comprehensive AI risk management framework tailored to Hong Kong’s business environment. The project will examine AI adoption patterns across firms and occupations, explore implications for workforce planning and talent development, and investigate the use of generative AI in corporate disclosures and analysts’ reports. It will also assess compliance, operational, and misinformation risks associated with AI technologies, providing valuable insights for businesses, regulators, and policymakers.

Through collaboration with industry partners, the project will produce practical outcomes, including an open-access AI risk management service, algorithms for detecting AI-generated misinformation, and policy recommendations to support responsible AI governance. This achievement highlights AF’s research excellence and its commitment to generating impactful knowledge that addresses emerging business challenges.

The School congratulates Prof. Tian and his research team on this significant accomplishment and looks forward to the project’s contribution to advancing responsible AI adoption and corporate governance in Hong Kong.

這趟旅程在2026年5月18日至22日正式展開✨ 由田教授與王教授帶隊，27位就讀大數據會計及金融理學碩士及其他會計金融課程的同學，於劍橋大學邱吉爾學院Møller Institute展開高密度專業學習。📚

We’re thrilled to share the successful completion of the PolyU Cambridge Immersion Programme in AI Applications in Accounting and Finance! 🎉

This immersive trip ran from 18–22 May 2026. ✨ Led by Prof. Tian and Prof. Wang, 27 students from the MSc in Accounting and Finance Analytics and other Accounting & Finance programmes took part in intensive academic training at the Møller Institute, Churchill College, University of Cambridge. 📚

Participants dived deep into cutting-edge topics including fintech, data science, and cyber crisis simulations. This was followed by valuable industry visits to Revolut and Endava in London for hands-on professional insights. 💼

The programme concluded with group project presentations, culminating in a gala dinner and certificate award ceremony held at Downing College! 🍽️

We’re incredibly proud of every student’s outstanding performance. Huge congratulations to everyone on completing this unforgettable overseas learning journey! 👏
