📢The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at Hong Kong Baptist University is pleased to invite you to the 3rd International Symposium on Humanities and Culture: Strategies and Impact of a Digital Future, with day 1 of the symposium to be held at the HKJC Auditorium, Hong Kong Palace Museum on 18 March (Wednesday), 2026. This event will also be the key FASS event to mark the 70th anniversary of HKBU.

Building on the insightful dialogues of our previous international symposia, this year’s event seeks to delve deeper into the interconnected relationship between the humanities and technological advancements shaping our future societies. The 2026 symposium will focus on three pivotal themes:

Theme 2: Digital Humanities & Transdisciplinary Research
Theme 3: Social, Ethical, & Policy Implications of Technology

The Fund aims to provide financial support to FASS students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements and have financial needs for participation in overseas activities.

Students who are interested in applying for the Fund, should submit the following documents to the Faculty Office by email ([email protected]) before the deadline 23 February 2026:
• A completed application form;
• A copy of academic transcript of the Semester 1, AY2025/26 (unofficial student copy will be acceptable);
• Confirmation of result on exchange, internship or placement;
• Copies of valid supporting documents for the attained significant achievement in community service, research or extra-curricular activities;
• A self-statement of no more than 400 words in English on your personal goals and financial needs
• Recognized proof of financial needs (e.g. result of (a) the Government Grant & Loan 2025/2026, or (b) HKBU Financial Aid - Bursaries and Loans (Non-Government Funding) 2025/2026, or (c) other documents issued by official organizations).

[Announcement] We are pleased to announce that HKBU TIIS ranks No. 1 institution on the 2024 ranking list of Chinese Universities for Translation and Interpreting Capacity in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan for the third consecutive year!
This recognition was revealed at the 5th Symposium on National Translation Capacity, jointly organised by the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, co-organised by BSFU’s Research Centre for Country-specific Translation and Interpretation Capacity (RECTIC) and the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation (GSTI), and the editorial board of the Interpreting and Society: An Interdisciplinary Journal.
The 2024 Global National Translation Capacity Index and the 2024 Ranking List of Chinese Universities for Translation and Interpretation Capacity were released during the event, underscoring HKBU TIIS’s leadership and excellence in translation and interpreting.
