New Zealand opens the door to a new investor program.

The Government has announced the Business Investor Visa (BIV) – to attract experienced business people ready to invest, operate, and grow established businesses in New Zealand.

* NZ$1 million investment → three-year work-to-residence pathway
* NZ$2 million investment → 12-month fast-track to residence

The new BIV will be launched November 2025. As Immigration Minister Erica Stanford highlighted:

“This new visa will bring overseas investment to maintain and create jobs, grow incomes, and breathe new life into existing businesses across the country.”

The BIV also forms part of a wider refresh of business visa settings, alongside improvements to the Active Investor Plus visa, and the retirement of the outdated Entrepreneur Category. Work is also underway to create a visa pathway for startup entrepreneurs with scalable, innovative ideas.

Whilst Australia has narrowed its visa investment programs, these changes show a smart, flexible, and forward-thinking approach to immigration policy—helping to unlock global talent and capital, while driving growth and opportunity for all New Zealanders.

Victoria's 2024-25 Skilled visa nomination program is now open. Applicants with a positive skills assessment in ANY occupation resiging overseas or in Victoria , can now submit their ROI.
✅Have a positive skill assessment for ANY occupation
✅No need to be working in your nominated occupation
✅You need to be residing in Victoria or overseas

To be eligible to apply for subclass 491 application, you need to be residing in regional Vicotria. Nearby places from Melbourne CBD, such as, Mernda, Pakenham, Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat are all considered as part of Regional Victoria.

⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE

Starting 1 July 2024, holders of certain visas, including Visitor and Temporary Graduate visas, will no longer be able to apply for Student visas while in Australia.

Student visa applicants with a genuine intention to pursue studies in Australia will still be able to apply for a Student visa from offshore (outside of Australia).

The Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement, long associated with student visas, has undergone a transformation. The GTE requirement aimed to identify applicants who intended to use the student visa program for purposes other than genuine education. However, this requirement has been replaced by the Genuine Student Test (GST).

【澳港聯收到澳洲內政部通知 畢業簽年齡上限不適用於香港學生】
自12月11日澳洲公佈最新移民策略，當中畢業簽證的年齡將由50歲降至35歲，令不少目前在澳洲就讀或計劃來澳洲讀書的香港學生，對不確定的未來感到憂慮及不安。連日來，許智峯、任建峯聯同澳港聯及多州港人組織一直與有關方面保持聯絡，將我們的關注和不安表達。今早澳港聯的代表收到內政部長Clare O'Neil辦公室來電通知，「485畢業簽的年齡上限變更不適用於香港學生，包括現時就讀或未來來澳洲升學的香港學生，詳情會在明年初公佈。」
深切理解近兩周來，香港學生感受到的焦慮及不安。未來我們收到更多詳情，會盡快向大家公佈。

從2023年11月25日開始，澳洲政府將對Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) (subclass 482) and Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream of the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) (subclass 186) 流程進行改變，以為TSS簽證持有者提供更簡單明確的永久居住途徑。

這些變更將為雇主和TSS簽證持有者提供更多的確定性，確保澳大利亞吸引並保留所需的熟練工作者。
