【NEOM Double Research Seminar】
Today, our LMS Professor and Network of Empirical Operations Management (NEOM) Founding Director, Prof. Chris Lo, moderated a hybrid double research seminar featuring Prof. Xiande Zhao, the JD.COM Chair Professor at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and a global leader in operations and supply chain management, alongside Prof. Qiang Wang, School of Management, Xi'an Jiaotong University.
In the first session, Prof. Wang explored how the China-U.S. trade conflict drives Chinese listed firms to strategically reconfigure their supply chains. The research reveals how companies mitigate geopolitical risks by reshaping their supplier and customer networks to reduce dependence on single markets. In the second session, Prof. Zhao pivoted to technology and consumer behavior, demonstrating how blockchain-based track-and-trace technology can reduce online product returns by an impressive 47%. Using large language models (LLMs) to analyze consumer reviews, the study proves that blockchain's value extends far beyond backend efficiency to positively influence consumer psychology and trust.
Thank you to our global audience for joining us both in person and virtually for these outstanding presentations!

【BBA-SCMA Study Tour to Italy】
Having wrapped up our BBA-SCMA study tour, we look back on a journey that featured a visit to the iconic tyre manufacturer Pirelli, offering our students a close look at the complex coordination required to support a global distribution network. The group then explored the agricultural sector at CPL Parma (Consorzio Produttori Latte), learning how local farmers passionately dedicate themselves to preserving quality and tradition while embracing modern supply chain innovation.
The academic experience continued at Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), Italy’s oldest and largest technical university. After a campus tour, students had the pleasure of meeting Prof. Sara Perotti, Associate Professor of Logistics and Co-Director of the International Master in Digital Supply Chain Management - Operations, Procurement and Logistics. They also attended an insightful talk on “Supply Chain Evolution: Scenarios and Trends” by Prof. Andrea Sianesi, Full Professor of Operations & Supply Chain Management. The visit concluded with a relaxed networking session, allowing everyone to exchange thoughts, share stories, and build meaningful connections with academic peers and professionals.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the institutions, companies, and museums for their generosity with our students throughout the trip. This experience has left our students with wonderful memories and a much broader global perspective on the supply chain landscape.
