Human‑Dog Coexistence in Cheung Chau: Reshaping Stray Dogs’ Community Role and Shared Future

KWOK Tsz Ki Kira, LAW Ching Ling, LEE Ka Ki
In Cheung Chau, stray dogs are often labelled as a “problem” rather than recognised as part of the community, creating a cycle of misunderstanding and blame. PAWJECT shifts the focus from managing strays to reshaping community perception. Through school workshops, community publications and open‑source teaching resources, the project encourages residents to reimagine the role of stray dogs and take small, collective steps towards everyday human‑animal coexistence.

Bridging the haptic feedback gap in self‑directed cello practice through human‑robot collaboration.
Cellow is an intelligent training system designed for adult beginner cellists, focusing on bowing velocity and trajectory control. Powered by a high‑precision xArm7 robotic arm and grounded in Scaffolding Theory, the system supports a progressive transition from full physical guidance to autonomous mastery. By integrating motion capture with real‑time multimodal posture monitoring and tactile feedback, *Cellow* helps learners correct maladaptive habits and practise ergonomically, exploring the potential of Human‑Robotic Collaborative Caring Systems as a closed‑loop digital mentor for complex motor skill acquisition.

Festival of Light
Industrial Ephemeral Theater
HO Cheuk Yan
This project focuses on overlooked shadow periods and underused spaces within industrial areas. Through temporary street furniture and light-based interventions, it transforms unidentifiable ‘non-sites’ into meaningful places of temporal discovery. By responding to specific lighting conditions, the design encourages dynamic urban occupation and reactivates industrial infrastructure through everyday, participatory experiences.

ISLA AYLLU Peng Chau Semi-Rural Regeneration Design
SU Yuting, LI Kelin, YU Rui
Set in Peng Chau, this project understands the island as a fragile yet adaptive semi‑rural system shaped by low‑density villages, coastal ecology and informal community practices. Rather than imposing urban models, it proposes small‑scale, low‑impact and context‑specific interventions that respond to spatial fragmentation, environmental exposure and community dynamics, addressing overlooked micro‑ecologies while building community resilience.

Visualising carbon management through a low‑carbon exhibition service system.
Aerial Path proposes a low‑carbon exhibition as a pilot scenario to make carbon credits and sustainable practices tangible. Designed as a B2B2C service blueprint within Hong Kong’s event ecosystem, the project integrates pre‑exhibition green transport, on‑site interactive engagement, and post‑exhibition reverse logistics and recycling. By positioning logistics as an invisible enabler, the system supports ESG goals while pioneering scalable and sustainable business models.

Drain Cleaner Mobility Device|VacuMover
FUNG Wing Yan Rainie
With extreme rainfall becoming more frequent, clogged roadside drains are a hidden cause of urban flooding, placing sanitation workers in hazardous conditions. VacuMover reimagines the vacuum cleaner as a robust outdoor mobility device, integrating autonomous movement with professional wet-and-dry vacuuming. By removing the need for manual scooping and heavy lifting, the design reduces workplace injury risks and significantly improves everyday working conditions for frontline cleaners.
